What to Get in the Prime Day Sale in 2025

Every year I groan when it's yet another Amazon Prime Day — and then every year I spend several hours shopping the sale for myself before I even get a post up here. (Content creators do get knowledge of the sales ahead of time, but somehow the 350,000 line spreadsheet fails to be as useful as one would hope.) ANYHOO: they are pretty good this year, with some deals that we've seen before (Rothy's, Peloton, Hydrow, Gap), and some newer ones. Note that Shopbop also has Prime Day deals if you link your Amazon account with your Shopbop account.
Pictured above, clockwise: 1) lady coat from Theory 2) suede coat from All Saints 3) trousers from Gap 4) wool cashmere coat from All Saints, 5) blue dress from Club Monaco, 6) Naked eyeshadow palette, 7) Peloton, 8) green Coach bag, 9) Shark hairdryer, 10) Black Honey lip gloss
Quick Notes
- Shark hair products – I've had the Shark dryer (HyperAIR) since 2022 and I love it — it is so fast and still holds up great. The dryer and hair styling products are both in the sale. There are also some good deals on Dyson hair dryers!
- Leather jackets from All Saints! A lot of nice options at prices I haven't seen before. Note that there are a few All Saints leather jackets in the upcoming Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as well, but priced higher. Also in the sale (and pictured above): this gorgeous winter coat.
- Have we seen Black Honey in the sale before? This is the first time I'm noticing it, and I just ran out, sooooo…
- There are also a few deals from smaller brands readers love such as Lo & Sons and Rothy's,
- Nice workwear options from Theory (love this lady jacket), Club Monaco, and Gap
- denim deals from Levi's, AG, NYDJ, Gap, Paige, and Democracy
- Kate Spade has a lot of tech gear in the sale, like phone cases and AirPod cases; I also love these shoes and this tote and this card case/wristlet (also lots of boots!)
- Trtl travel pillow – I got this one during one of the last Prime Day sales and we just used it — I do think it works a lot better than the typical travel horseshoe pillow, and it folds flat.
- Built bars – they're a bit weird but they're one of my favorite protein bars. (The Puff bars are particularly weird but I like them — very squooshy and marshmallowy.)
- Also of note: if you've been looking to add a walking pad or under-desk treadmill to your home office, there are some great sales, including on this reader-recommended one — also some weighted vests. I have this one (12 lbs) and it does add a nice challenge to a walk.
- Another note: big deals on Peloton and Hydrow, with $100s off bikes, rowers, treadmills, and more
- Lots of great skincare from Dr Jart, Obagi Medical, Kiehl's, Paula's Choice, Maria Bedescu, Ursa Major, Bioelements, and COSRX, as well as sunscreen deals from EltaMD, Supergoop! and La Roche Posay; I'm also giving this Innisfree Korean sunscreen a try

Beauty Deals in Prime Day 2025
Big brands I'm seeing with lots of deals include:
- Laneige – I've bought the lip mask in the past; this year I might try their tinted gloss
- Olaplex (including No. 3!! My curly hair really like this hair mask about once a month – it's great for defrizzing it) — also products from DryBar, Living Proof, Ouidad,
- Obagi Medical has some great skincare in the sale, so does Dr Jart, Kiehl's, Paula's Choice, Ursa Major, Perricone MD, and COSRX
- Bioelements, my personal favorite for an incredibly rich moisturizer for the drying days of winter, is in the sale — I love both Really Rich Moisture as well as their Multitask Eye Cream.
- Alterna Caviar – Their products are some of my favorites when I'm not doing the Curly Girl method – tons of deals from Living Proof and Ouai also
- Sunscreen deals from EltaMD, Supergoop! and La Roche Posay
- Urban Decay – They have mini Naked palettes on sale, as well as lippies, setting sprays, and eyeliners
- IT Cosmetics – one of my favorite undereye concealers, plus they have a ton of foundation
- Lots of blushes, sheer lip tints, and more from Laura Geller
- Drybar Round Dryer Brush – I haven't tried this one, but I've heard good buzz about it as being a step up from the $40ish Revlon dryer brush that everyone loves (down about $10 in the sale!)
- If you have curly hair, there are deals on Devacurl, Love Ur Curls, Ouidad, and Bounce Curl — it's rare for me to feel like something is a gamechanger with my curly hair routine, but the Bounce Curl brush actually is a gamechanger (I have the “define” one and think I'll be adding the “volume” one to my cart…)
- If you like shampoo bars, there are a ton in the sale
- Lots of electric toothbrushes
- Drugstore makeup like Burt's Bees and Maybelline
- Great deals on drugstore skin products like CeraVe, Curel, and Mighty Patch (and, OOH, my personal favorite exfoliating facial cleanser)
- I saw a dermotologist recommend these on TikTok, so now I have some – they're these weird collagen-infused masks for your under-chin area, and there are a lot of sizes in the sale!
- I'm really into this lip tint from Peripera — I have it in “Rose in Mind” and am going to try two other colors because I like it so much. Goes on looking glossy but then becomes matte and keeps your lips moisturized for a long while. Love it. I've also written about my love of this liquid blush from Youthforia before, also.
- For nails, there are lots of deals on Sally Hansen and OPI…

No thank you to stuff that is either absolute garbage or likely to be fake. Especially when it’s lining Jeff Bezos’s pockets.
+1. Gave Amazon up years ago after receiving used personal products.

Essentially Amazon marks up prices in advance of Prime Day in order to sell them at “sale prices” which are the same prices as Kohl’s, Macy’s, etc.
Here’s a classic: The Sun Magazine’s “Unfair Advantage: Stacy Mitchell on How Amazon Undermines Local Economies” (November 2018)
I checked the prices of all my “saved for later” items and none of them were actually less expensive though some purportedly on sale. Hard pass.
The olaplex shampoo set and the laneige lip balm are actual good deals. That’s what I ordered.
Do you trust that they’re real?
Nope nope nope nope nope. Not another penny to Oligarchies-R-Us.
