I just got the Nine West “Walcott” shoes in black – and they're perfect. I want them in every color. Not too high a heel, not too pointy at the toes (but also not so rounded they look like toddlers' shoes) – they're very comfortable, effortlessly professional, and inexpensive (on sale for $50!). I think the style won't be discontinued any time soon, I've seen different colors introduced each season. We think these are a great, reasonably priced alternative to the Cole Haan and Manolos out there. Note also that these shoes are available up to a size 12. They're available at NineWest.com for $50. Walcott

nothing from the nordstrom anniversary sale?
I just looked at the Nordstrom anniversary sale, and I didn’t see anything I would wear to work. I just bought these Nine West shoes however, and three other pairs of shoes because they are having a great sale.
All of my shoes by Nine West need to be reheeled after a month or two, which makes me really frustrated. The plastic thing covering the heel just wears down and I’m walking on a nail. They wear out FAR quicker than my shoes from Target, so I’m hesitant to buy them again (but I always do because they’re cute…) Does anyone else have this issue?
also, all this talk of the anniversary sale made me take a trip over to Nordstrom. I kind of LOVED This–too sexy for work? discuss!

I have the issue of the heel wearing down with my Bandolinos. I’ve already had the heels replaced on my mary janes twice! No other shoes…
I haven’t been too impressed with Nine West’s quality either. I feel like there are lots of other brands in that price range that seem to be better made but still have cute styles. I love Dillard’s Antonio Melani and Gianni Bini brands. The styles are cute but the soles are heavier duty.
@HK – I think you could wear it to work if you get the correct size (skim the body, not cling). I’m not sure I’m liking what it does to the model’s bust, though – it turns her curves into something very — prow of a ship-like?
I totally expected something from the anniversary sale too! I agree with e that there aren’t a lot of work approriate shoes. I bought a few pairs of flats, but no heels.
i agree about nine west shoes wearing out quickly. i find that the leather tends to stretch out too much and very quickly so that the don’t fit any more after not much use.
Appropriate, but very boring.
I have always had that problem with Nine West – it’s not really a deal if I have to re-heel and re-toe the shoes every other month, and the leather looks bad.
I’m a huge Nine West fan, but part of that comes from wearing a 10.5, which very few companies make. I’ve been fairly happy with my shoes from them, but I don’t tend to wear my heels more than a handful of times a month.
