Coffee Break: Charcoal Jade and Garnet Elephant Pendant
This post may contain affiliate links and Corporette® may earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

We've noticed that shoes and bags seem to be some of our most popular TPS reports, so we're launching a new feature today — a semi-regular report on accessories. We'll suggest pieces in a range of prices, and it'll run opposite from the TPS reports (so today is the bargain, and later in the week will be the splurge.)
Amazon is having a sale on 30% off of all garnet pieces — lucky for any January babies you know. We're liking this interesting charcoal jade pendant of an elephant with a garnet eye and gold overlaid details. Part of the appeal is that it's an unusual “garnet” piece — far from the marcasite and briolette that seems to define the birthstone arena — but we like the piece on its own, also — particularly at the office, an elephant seems to be a good symbol, as they're known for their good memories.
Was $90, marked to $47, comes to $31 after the discount (which you only see on the final step of checkout). We think it'd be lovely with any V-neck'ed sweaters or dresses. Gold Overlay Sterling Silver Charcoal Jade and Garnet Elephant Pendant on Chain, 18

This would have been perfect with the top I’m wearing at work today (short sleeved black cashmere turtleneck). Too bad!
Not a huge fan of the necklace, but I think the idea re: accessories is perfect for a new feature. Thanks!
Love the necklace and the idea!
Yay! Now a way for C to still be relevant on my reading list through the maternity clothes months when most of those cute things featured just won’t work for me! Great idea!
Also: I do like the necklace. Jade always seemed kind of elegant to me.
Love love love the necklace and the idea to cover accessories. Thanks!!!
Count me in on the chorus of approval (both for the idea and the necklace)!
Clearly, I’m too political because the first thing I thought of with the “elephant” was not the memory but the Republican party! Thanks for the tip though, I’m a January!
Love the idea of the accessory feature, but not a fan of the necklace. And people thought heart jewelry was too young looking? That’s the great thing about jewelry… something for everyone.
I like the idea of a jewelry feature. Recently, I read an article on how the size of pearls you can wear increases with age. So younger women wear smaller pearls. That was a complete surprise to me!
Anyone else ever heard of that? Not sure where I read that; maybe it was here.
I’m actually keeping and wearing fewer and fewer pieces of jewelry as I age. I’m always choosing my very favorites and getting rid of the “meh” ones.
I’ve heard the thing about the size of the pearls. I thought that was just one of those “proper” things that people talk about. Like no white after Labor Day and your lipstick should match your fingernail polish.
and velvet *only* between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day.
There was a whole thread on this awhile back. Consensus as I remember it: baby-sized pearl strands can look a little sad as you advance in your career, but if you have a nice set (and it isn’t obnoxiously, marble-sized large), there’s no minimum age for a particular size of strand.
Love the idea but not the necklace! Reminds me of my mother, who dresses quite well in general but is fond of cat-themed jewelry.
