We're going to be a bit pressed for time today, so we may skip our afternoon post and instead point you to some great deals we've found lately. There seem to be a lot going on, so post more in the comments if you've found them… First, the Endless sale has been continued (it was supposed to end on Tuesday). It's kind of tricky, so here are our tips for searching the site: – Go to the website and type in the code “Extra40Off” in the search field. – From there, you can either a) further limit to “Sale and Clearance” (our tip if you're on a budget) or proceed directly to b) shop by brands you like. We find it easier to toggle through the site that way, but maybe that's just us. (You can also searcht the site by color, or style of bag.) – Once you find something you like, make sure the product page (near the price) has something that says “Special Offer Available!” — that's how you know it's 40% off. The deal won't actually show up until you're at the last step of the checkout process (but you can still delete things if you want to at that point, or walk away entirely.) For example, the Kate Spade nylon tote above (Kate Spade Quilted Poppy Fields Maryanne Tote,Cherry) was $325, now about $145 with the sale. TONS of Bally, Botkier, Bulga, Cole Haan, Kate Spade, LeSportsac, and Treesje bags. (Anyone who does not have our preferred travel bag, the Lesportsac Large Weekender, can make out like a bandit at the sale. Trust us, these things are great for stuffing into that front compartment of your rolling carry-on bag, and then using them as another carry-on bag on your way home to transport all the goodies you've picked up on your trip. It can also function as a laundry bag while you're on the trip.) Second, Banana Republic has 40% off today with code BBCY91N3DTCQ. We're still trying to figure out if that's a unique code (it was sent to us by a friend) or if that's a good-for-everything code — we didn't receive an e-mail notification from Banana today about the sale, for some reason. (Booo.) Finally, the Barney's sale has hit the 60% off mark. We got some great pieces at this sale last year (including the cashmere sweater we're wearing today). Like we said, this is in no way a complete survey of the sales out there — just some good ones we've heard about. Let us know if you've heard of other good ones — seems like the sales season is starting to get underway. (Yay!) (L-4) Back to Top

I think the BR coupon is a pre-sale for BR cardholders. You may need to use a BR card to get the discount. The sale starts tomorrow for everyone else though.
Amy
There are some extremely covetable shoes in that Barney’s sale.

Thanks, C! I was the technically inept lawyer who couldn’t figure out my code a few days ago.. Ladies, when you enter you code you will see the message below say no discount available; just proceed to checkout anyway, where the discount is reflected _______________________________________________

We’re sorry, but we didn’t recognize the promotional claim code or Amazon.com Gift Card code you entered. Perhaps you typed it incorrectly or you are trying to use a code that’s not valid for the items in your Shopping Cart?”
LawGirl
typing while on a conference call.. sorry! illiterate post.
Rachel
C, you finally talked me into the LeSportSac Weekender. Actually, I just bought it like a crazed lunatic because there was only one left in my favorite pattern. Thank God for free shipping a
Josie
Thanks for the post! Unfortunately, the BR code was “already redeemed.” Just FYI.

Sick sale @ Barneyssssssss!!!!!!

Ooh, so tempting Kate Spade deals at endless.com. I’m in the market for a great black bag for work. Needs to be huge, of course, and look great. I’m thinking leather, but what are the thoughts on a nylon bag? Too casual? I’m thinking of some of the Kate Spade offerings.
Rachel
Also, Talbots is buy one, get one 50% off on everything, including sale and outlet merchandise. Personally, I’m waiting for their after-Christmas winter sale, but this could be a great sale for suits (it gets impossible to match tops and bottoms when everything hits deep discounts).
Ms.Q
and of course be sure to check out google Free Shipping Day today for shipping promo codes. Brooks Brothers had a free shipping code with no minimum purchase (and the no-iron shirts are still on clearance in a variety of sizes)

I’m frustrated with the endless sale, I am at the end of the checkout process (only step left is to hit the Place Order button) and the 40% discount is not showing up (and I followed all the other steps and each item says Extra40Off). What am I missing?
anon-nyc
oops, nevermind. Just an FYI for others who might miss it, the discount is not reflected under the Your Order Items box. It is reflected as “Promotion Applied” under the Order Summary box in the upper right hand corner.
LawGirl
@anon-nyc Isn’t it this most maddening, frustrating checkout experience ever?! But ahhh, your Endless box will arrive tomorrow, with bags galore >;-)

Express is 40% off – I bought 4 sweaters and 2 pairs of tights for about 160$, and I received 75$ worth of Express money – I guess for every 50$ I spend, I can use one of the 25$ vouchers. Not too shabby for a store I normally avoid!
CP
here’s a Banana code for anyone who wants it — have to pay w/ your BR/ON/Gap card — DL1CN72F9NJ3

How do you ladies have time to find out about all these deals?
Amy
I can’t speak for others, but I sign up for promo emails from my favorite sites. I am up early with a preschooler so I check email at about 6 a.m. (Mountain time) and figure out what the deals are for the day, and either shop then or on my lunch hour. Obviously most days I buy nothing, but with that Endless sale, a bag I had wanted for a year went from $325 to $135 after all discounts were applied. I tend to load a lot of my shopping into this time of year now that retailers discount so aggressively – it’s totally worth it. Some sites also offer early-access or private sales if you’re on the email list.
