Suit of the Week

woman wears orange silk shauntung suit with short sleeves and a miniskirt; there is a corsage on her shoulder

We love this beautiful silk suit in a youthful tangerine — it's a sure way to stand out in a crowd and tell your colleagues that you're a confident, successful woman. Plus, the shortness of the skirt is sure to detract from any perceived matron-liness caused by the high neckline.

Oscar de la Renta Shantung Jacket and Skirt, available at Saks Fifth Avenue for $2680.

For orange suiting, WHBM has cute orange matching pieces including suiting, Tahari has a very bright orange (in plus sizes as well), and The Fold has some options in a lovely “burnt orange.” Saks OFF5TH has a great tangerine suit from Alice & Olivia, also, and Mango has some “coral” reddish orange suiting.

  1. You know, I knew the skull sweater was an April Fool’s joke, but I walked right into this one. I had a good 30 seconds of WTF are they thinking?

  2. We’re still in April Fool’s mode, right?

Went back up to take another look. Yep, definitely. Short skirt? Brightly-colored suit described as “youthful”? Definitely April Fool’s.

    Oh God, right?

  3. I thought the skull sweater was the April Fools joke, but now I wonder if maybe all the posts today are meant to be pranks…

  4. I loved that beautiful floral pin. It really ads something. Something a little crazy.

  5. Oh thank god, april fools. I was concerned that the last 2 posts meant you were going crazy…

  6. Well the suit is actually almost $2,000 and unfortunately that price is NOT an april fool’s joke. :)

  7. C, you should check out the prices for the pullovers and shirts on the skull-shirt website. For a moment, I thought the whole site was an april’s fool’s joke…

  8. …and here I was downunder, sitting in my Inhouse Counsel grey and black thinking things were a little …different….in America!!!!!
