Unintentionally, today is a Brooks Brothers kind of a day. We like this wool suit (super 110s) and its unusual wide stripe pattern — it's distinctive yet traditional at the same time. The Widestripe Wool Three-Button Jacket is available for $398, the Widestripe Wool Skirt is $188, and there are two kinds of matching pants — the Widestripe Wool Catherine™ Trousers ($238) have a slimmer fit, a plain front, and a contoured waistband; meanwhile, the Widestripe Wool Trousers (also $238) have a wider fit (but also a plain front and contoured waistband). brooks brothers skirt suit

  1. I’m not living a suit life right now, but when I do I hunt for a dark fleck-y gray fabric, as un-chunky as possible, which can be a challenge, but worth it. The effect will still be charcoal, but the fleck-y part is so it doesn’t show every little bit of fluff and dust and whatnot. I lurrrve smooth-surfaced black suits, but don’t like having to check all the time to make sure there’s nothing sticking to it. I also drape piece of thin cotton over the shoulders of jackets hanging in the closet, so they don’t accumulate dust. But they still get brushed every time before I put them on!
