Thursday’s TPS Report: Lucky Brand Chiffon Yoke Top

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend. This top has a lot of elements we normally would not like for the office — chiffon (in the delicate twisted colored bits at the top), a pre-bloused shape, and a tie at the bottom that dangles out. But the multicolored chiffon at the top is just so, so pretty and unusual we had to find a way to make this work for the office. So here's how we'd wear it: light gray trousers (with the tie either tucked in, or tied in a way that it doesn't dangle), this top (possibly with a navy camisole beneath it), and a fitted white blazer. Thoughts? It's available at Nordstrom for $69. Lucky Brand Chiffon Yoke TopSales of note for 1/22/25:

Maybe it’s just me, but I find cap sleeves so unflattering. It cuts off at the biggest part of the arm, making your arms look bigger than they really are.
This is gorgeous. I would wear this on a day when I’m going out after work.
i have a tshirt with the tie thingy around the neck, you would def have to put a tank under it for work. it looks good in the pic, but the peepshow makes you feel naked at work without something under it. that said, i agree if you paired it with a jacket, totally work-worthy. i also dislike the tie on the bottom, i’d tuck it in, or cut it off.
Cut off the tie. It doesn’t even look good in the casual ensemble pictured.
I would love this with a white blazer, but I agree, the ties at the bottom MUST go.
I agree with lawdiva! cap sleeves don’t really work for most people.
I agree with Lawdiva. Also, a pleated line just above the breasts always makes me look pregnant…
TPS–This is just not doing it for me. It seems very much like a top someone who was trying to have a lot of style but can’t quite get style right would wear. FAIL.
And, FWIW, cap sleeves look great if you are tall and have long arms. I wear them all the time!
