Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend. Meridian Silk Dress in Black We like this vintage-inspired silk dress* from What Comes Around Goes Around. The diamond print pattern would be a bit busy (and a bit too '70s) on any other color, but it works on black; we also like the two pleats running down the front of the skirt — ladylike yet different.   1. I don’t think it’s the fabric so much as the cut and style of a dress that might make it inappropriate for the office.

  2. I’m not a stick figure, so I’d pass on this one…. I think anyone with a hint of curves would look a little on the frumpy side.

  3. It’s an okay dress. I wouldn’t wear it to a business meeting or anything career related, but it’s not that bad.
