Happy Monday! I’m loving these pants from Rachel Roy. Love the tropical wool, as well as the fact that they’re partially lined. I also like that they sit higher on the waist than a lot of trousers, but don’t quite harken back to the “high waisted” trend of a year or two ago. Simple, beautiful, classic — love ‘em. I really like this dress from BOSS Black — it has the brand’s classic, simple lines, high quality, and so forth. The only minor thing is the ruffle detail — there’s a “shoulder ruffle visible from the back.” Is it cute or is it too “I’ve got a parrot on my shoulder” for the office (or, for those geeks among us, too Zaphod Beeblebrox?) Annoyingly, I couldn’t find much info on this brand when I was poking around the other day, but here’s what I’ve heard: Pippa Madison
is a designer exclusive to Bloomingdale’s, newly introduced and focusing on workwear; the brand may also be a lower-priced line from the designers behind French Connection. Information and belief aside, I like the look of this navy blue ponte jersey dress. Love the three-point v-neck, the slight puff to the sleeves and the small (reallly!) peplum details on either side of the waist. Oooo: Bloomingdale’s has a number of cute things on sale right now, including a ton of great blazers (albeit in limited sizes). This morning I’m loving this classic Kamryn blazer from Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Love the slight puff to the shoulders, the tropical stretch wool, and the single back vent. Sometimes, a black and white silk blouse is just what the doctor ordered. I like the feminine ruffles at the placket, the simple floral print, and the “shaping seams.” It does look a bit sheer, so I’d layer a white camisole beneath it . Note that the v-neck can be either low or fairly high (see the Bloomingdale’s picture). All in all, it’s a lovely blouse. Bloomingdale’s has a size S only for $104.30, and Ralph Lauren has sizes M-XL for $109, and Dillards has all sizes for $149.
