I own these pants. I *love* these pants. I’m a curvy girl who used to live in Banana Republic’s ‘Jackson’ fit until relatively recently (I think BR changed the Jackson cut). As such, I’m constantly on the hunt for great, black wide-legged trousers, and these fit the bill. They fit me perfectly, just about everywhere. Flattering in the hips/rear area (snug but not bootylicious), comfortable in the waist (not constricting/pinching), and I swear, when I paired them with the right set of heels, my legs looked twice as long. Styling recommendations? They’re black pants! You know what to do. They’re $78 at Nordstrom. Amber Sun ‘Aubrey’ Wide Leg Pants

I love a good tweed. When employed properly, it’s always a classic. This dress is a fun twist on the classic, in that it’s sleeveless and has that great detailing and seaming at the shoulders. I love the high neckline, full lining and hidden back zipper. I’m a little concerned that the length might be too short for some of the lucky longer-limbed Corporettes out there, so to them I’d say save this for fall/winter and pair it with some opaque tights (but not in a “opaque tights make *everything* ok!” way) and kitten heels. I’d also wear the dress with a simple blazer or cardigan and, of course, some pearls. MICHAEL Michael Kors Fringe Tweed Dress Black 2

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is on — as always, they’re marking down new fall merchandise for a limited time; prices rise after August 1. For today’s TPS I like this knit bow top. Love the ruched sleeves, the deepish V, and the fact that it’s a knit instead of a blouse. It’s available in ivory, black, espresso, magenta, and gunmetal. The price is currently $37.90 — but it will be $58 after the sale ends. Halogen® Knit Bow Top

Looooove this sophisticated stretch crepe jacket from Donna Karan. It looks cozy but authoritative at the same time — not to mention flattering. I’d either wear it with all black, or else I’d have fun with colorblocking — perhaps wearing a royal blue pencil skirt and using a colorful belt (purple? green?) instead of the one it comes with. It’s $1995 at Nordstrom (limited sizes only). Donna Karan Collection Belted Stretch Crepe Jacket

Nordstrom has a few Rebecca Taylor pencil skirts on sale today. I’m liking this “femme” pencil skirt, which has a ruffled flounce in the back and has some nice seam detailing. Was $225, now marked to $129.90. Rebecca Taylor ‘Femme’ Pencil Skirt

Happy Wednesday! I like the look of this black and white dress from Donna Morgan, available in regulars and petites. The top is apparently a “true wrap bodice” but the skirt is a “partially-stitched down, faux wrap” — whatever it is the reviewers seem to love it, as all give it 5 stars. It’s $128 for both regulars and petites at Nordstrom. Donna Morgan Print Jersey Top Wrap Dress
