Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend. Calvin Klein Sleeveless Pleated Sheath Dress with BeltWe like this basic black sheath dress for today's TPS. We like the pleating at the bust, the belt, and the appropriate, ladylike length of it — it's perfect for pairing with jackets or cardigans year-round. We especially like that it's on sale at Macy's for $89 (was $129). (It's available in petite, as well.) Calvin Klein Sleeveless Pleated Sheath Dress with Belt

  1. Macy’s “friends and family” sale started yesterday, and runs through Monday, May 4. You get 25% off (as well as free shipping on orders of $99+) with code “MACYSFF” online. This is the sale they do without all the brand limitations so it’s a good time to pick up all the things that usually don’t go on sale.

With that sale code, this dress is $67.49!

  2. This is a nice dress, but me too I have issues with polyester. I live in southern California, and polyester gets clammy.

Also, I notice this says ‘dry clean’. Is anyone else fed up with virtually everything being labeled ‘dry clean only’? I don’t mind d. c. for good wool jackets, pants, etc. but it seems to me manufacturers slap the d. c. label on anything that isn’t pure cotton, just to cover their asses. If it’s ok to hand-wash-lay-flat-to-dry it, I wish they’d come out and say so. I haven’t got time to be running back and forth to the dry cleaner, and home delivery service is expensive, especially when women pay more for d.c. that men do in the first place. There, there’s my morning cranky over with, thanks for listening.

  3. I have this dress w/ cap sleeves. For some reason, when I sit down, it shows a much more leg than other dresses I have that are the same length while I am standing. The funny thing is that I can’t figure out what is going on with the construction to make this happen.

  4. Bought this same dress (in red) today from Ross for $40. Fits great, hits a little past my knees (I’m 5’0″), but I’m not sure if red is appropriate?
