Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Today we're liking this interesting jacket from Anne Klein. Admittedly, we're a little confused as to how it's a “mock” jacket — the buttons are decorative? Mostly decorative? You pull it over your head? With that caveat (and a minor hatred for those glasses), we like the cashmere jacket. The Nehru neckline is nice, and the removable velvet belt is just enough velvet for the work day, if you choose to wear it. (If not, we'd go for a long necklace — or perhaps Chanel-it up and wear multiple long necklaces.) The sweater is now $158 (formerly $395), and still available in sizes S-XL. Anne Klein is offering free shipping on all orders over $75. Long Sleeve Belted Mock JacketSales of note for 5/15:

Mock turtleneck. I like the jacket but the velvet wouldn’t be appropriate in my office.
That’s gorgeous. At a VP level, I think a little velvet should be OK most anywhere. Falling into the category of, “I’ve earned the right.” Unless NY finance/law is even more prohibitive than I thought.
Mock Jacket = Worn as a top, not as a jacket.
Am at Division Counsel (one below VP) level and could wear that without any issue, and likely a compliment from our GC.
I like it!
But I thought it was a “mock” jacket because it’s cashmere & t/f not a “real” jacket in the blazer, etc., sense.
question on how you would wear necklaces with this – would they go inside the collar and peak out the little opening (which sounds weird to me), or would they go completely outside the collar?
I think a long necklace is really the only way to go with this neckline. It doesn’t really detract from the collar but still gives some additional interest.
I think if I wore this, I’d definitely switch out the velvet belt with a skinny black one instead.
I think the collar is intended to decorative so no necklace etc… needed.
Love, love, love the look, but am still having issues with 3/4 sleeves. This would be gorgeous with full length sleeves, and it would be more timeless as well. I have a feeling 3/4 sleeves will be transient, though not as transient as the poncho.
I am patiently waiting for 3/4 length jacket sleeves to go out of fashion. For shorties like me, it make us look like we’re wearing kids’ clothes.
For tall and slim women like the model, it makes them look like they’re wearing too-small clothes. Really not flattering except on tee-shirts.
Not quite my taste.
Love the jacket – just got a chance to check it out. On a ego booster note, I clicked on the 60% off sale button (there are some pretty good deals), but noticed the following:

Two Piece Onxy Dress Suit
So happy to know that big corporations make typos too! Yes, it is supposed to be Onyx.
