Downtown Gallery leather shoulder bagI actually bought this purse sometime last fall — it marks my first yellow purse. I like it a lot — it's surprisingly big, and the leather has a nice, soft, worn look to it, which helps offset some of the shock of carrying a yellow purse. I love wearing it with grays, as well as with other colors — a cobalt scarf, a pair of red shoes, etc. The Outnet actually has a bunch of BCBG bags on sale right now, and this one is an even better deal than what I got — it was $348, now marked to $139.20. 1. I just bought a yellow purse a bit like this one. I feel ahead of the curve for once!

  2. I love the color, but something about the shape of this reminds me of my grandmother’s “pocketbooks.” (She only has “pocketbooks” – not purses or handbags or hobos or totes or clutches.)

  3. I bought a yellow leather purse (smaller hobo style) from Banana a few years ago, and I still love it. It is such a great spring/summer purse, and complements a surprisingly large portion of my wardrobe. It is also one of the only ways I can incorporate yellow into an outfit, as I am one of those brunettes who look jaundiced in pretty much every shade of yellow.

  4. I love that soft, butter yellow! Now I’m jonesing for a yellow purse, or shoes, or scarf, or sweater…

    Is it spring yet?!?

  5. I love my yellow purse — have had it for years, and I agree that it’s surprisingly versatile. Though the rest of my purses are nicer, this one is a cheap, random brand that I got at Filene’s Basement (or similar). It’s definitely showing its age, and it’s a little small for everything I carry now, but I keep carrying it on a regular basis anyway because I love it. I recommend everyone invest in a yellow purse!

  6. I have had this reasonably priced little yellow purse for a few years: http://www.zappos.com/tignanello-perfect-10-french-tote-pale-yellow.

I LOVE bright colors in leather bags and am completely in favor of yellow as an accessory color. This one is in my spring/summer rotation, though I whip it out on the occasional gloomy gray winter Saturday for a moodlifter. I have it in deep purple for fall too. Definitely not a work bag (too small and, well, jaunty looking) but very good for out-and-about weekends.
