it came back! i was able to snatch a black one, yay!
To me, those straps look too skinny, and the part where they are sewn on to the leather too short – if you really load it up (I’m thinking laptop + files), I’m wondering how long they will last.

It does look better in person. Leather is very nice quality, it looks like a great basic.
It’s a great leather bag. I own in light blue. Having said that, I use it as a subsitute for a resort-y diaper bag for my now-toddlers (out of diapers but still need plenty of room for crayons, coloring books, bibs, etc.) I’d buy another at such a steal if I could be one of the lucky ones to grab a black (tried & failed.)

I keep looking at this bag and just thinking it has to be too good to be true at that price point.
I thought so too when I bought it at the store at $62 (50% off) in July. The only downside is no outside zipper – it’s a magnet clasp, but a robust one. The look and feel of the bag, however, is fabulous.
now they randomly have it in red, which looks fabulous!
BB “saves” things in your cart for a certain time – not sure how long – so if you put the last one of something in your cart, they take it off the site, but if you don’t buy it or the time runs out, they put it back up on the site. For clearance items, I’ve noticed things pop in and out a lot, so keep hitting refresh!
I bought this bag months ago and love it. Very versatile and the quality really is excellent (especially at $40). I have used another leather BB tote that I bought 2 years ago to carry files to work daily and it still looks fantastic.
Anyone watch The Closer? This looks just like the bag that Brenda carries and that people are always insulting. Which I have never understood – it is a fine tote, nothing wrong with it.
I love that show. I love the multi-dimensional female, feminine character who kicks ass at her job (with a gun to boot!), is very respected by the many men under her, but still has a lot of flaws.
Anyway, I think they make fun of her bag because it’s a cavernous mess. She can never find anything in it, so she digs and digs, and sometimes she has to dump out her bag and six candy wrappers come out. Also, she uses it as her regular purse, like when she goes to lunch. I think most of us would use this tote to bring files back and forth, but it would mostly stay at our desk while we used a smaller bag for the out and about. She bumps into things/people with it, especially when she turns. Seems appropriate for her razor sharp mind that is focused on her case, but not on the latest fashion or her surroundings if not at a crime scene. And, her bag must be freaking heavy!
Does anyone know if this is large enough to be a gym bag? For sneakers/towel/a few small shampoo bottles?

Does BB have a number that you can call to search the store’s retail inventory and have the item shipped to you??? I know BR often does this. I’d love to have this bag in black.
