I keep getting sale alerts in my email inbox for random spots, so I thought I'd poke around at some of the best shops for workwear to see if there were any good sales on — have you seen any great ones in honor of February 29th, ladies? From a quick look I'd say the Neiman Marcus one is the most major one going on, particularly if you've been eyeing something that almost never goes on sale (like a custom 5050 boot or something).

I love leap year because I get an EXTRA Day to shop! I am not familiar with the rest of the web readers, but I love to shop almost as much as I love to date guys!
TJ — Has anyone been to either Martinique or Guadeloupe? If so, any hotel suggestions? I want something on the beach – preferably not a big chain hotel or anything like that.
Really informative post on Guadeloupe (including beach options, hotels, travel tips, etc) here: https://hacketyhackblog.wordpress.com
Thank you SO much!
Not clothing (obviously) but King Arthur Flour company is offering 29-cent shipping on orders of $29 or more. I love their baking mixes, so I’m going to pull the trigger. (Usually shipping is like $6-$10!)
What the difference–if there is one—between a semi-formal or dressy causal wedding? Are they really one and the same?
Everything I read says thay are the same. but I think of semi-formal as c%$tail dress, and dressy casual as more of a festive, but non-c*&tail dress.
Please help.
Is it by chance a beach wedding?
I think for semi-formal men have to wear suits and for dressy casual men can wear a blazer and pants. I think you can wear a cocktail dress to either but semi formal allows shiny and sequins and dressy casual allows cotton maxi dresses. I’m curious as to what other think.
Dressy casual is less formal; I would say it’s more like Sunday Best. I would expect to see sundresses and khakis at a wedding with that on the dress code. No jeans, hiking boots or torn clothes, but beyond that I would say it’s hard to be too casual with that dress code. Semi-formal is more like c%$tail attire.
+1.
+2. My outdoor Sunday afternoon wedding was “dressy casual” and there were a lot of sundresses and slacks and dress shirts.

I need to buy a new black trench (mine caught on something and tore open last fall) but keep coming back to a magenta one. Much less practical but so much more fun! Adulting is hard.
Get the magenta one. That way if you hang it up at events or whatnot nobody will get confused and walk away with yours. Very practical.
Also, Magenta works with black OR brown OR nude. So you can use it with most shoes and bags.
Do you have any other colored trench coats? I have a very brightly colored winter coat, and it’s really my signature at this point. I think you would be surprised with how much wear you would get out of it, and honestly it makes me so happy to wear every time I put it on. Sometimes you have to stop adulting and do what makes you happy. FWIW I have a black backup coat that is nearly identical (same make and model, just different year) and I have yet to get it out this year (southern city + mild winter). I don’t care if my colored coat goes 100% with what I am wearing, but I would wear the black one if it was a tragic pairing.
I must admit I sort of wrote this hoping someone would talk me into the magenta.
My other trench is khaki, so I do have a neutral color. I wanted one I could wear with light grey as I don’t think khaki plays well with that shade; I suppose magenta would… :)
Oh PFFFF 100% get the magenta one then. The only color palette that magenta wouldn’t work with IMOP is browns/reds/and yellow greens, which a khaki trench works perfectly with. Besides, it isn’t easy to find a perfect colored coat, black coats are dime a dozen.
I have a magenta lightweight wool coat for spring. It only really clashes with reds, which I rarely wear anyway. It always lifts my mood.
Go for it. My new winter coat for this year is a nice, true red, when I’ve always worn black; it makes me happy to wear it and I get lots of compliments.
You’ll love it! I bought a pale pink trench online and missed the window to return it…but I’m glad I kept it, I love it, and I get lots of compliments.
