Seeking Winter Coat
I need advice for a winter coat to wear over suits. I practice in upstate NY where 10 deg F winter days are very common. Any advice re Jcrew thinsulate lined coats or other recommendations?
DC Darling
Spent last winter in Chicago and the northface arctic parka saved my life and, bonus, is actually really flattering.
Mpls
Jcrew will not cut it. Get a down/primaloft parka – North Face, Lands End, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer – whatever floats your boat. Make sure it covers your butt – and preferably goes down to your knees. It should have a hood, and cuffs at the wrists and a collar that snugs up to your face/neck to keep the wind from sneaking in.
Seeking Winter Coat
Thanks. Replacing a knee length patagonia down coat that I’ve had 9 years, still very warm but I’m ready for something different which is why I wondered about the wool Jcrew coats with thinsulate. Good to know they aren’t warm enough.
Mpls
The issue with the jcrew coats (that I’ve heard) is that while there is thinsulate in the body, there isn’t any in the sleeves.
