A week or so ago we asked, how do you invest? The answers were pretty evenly divided…
the poll is still open, but at the moment this is how things are looking:
4% of you said you spent your money on Cosmos and Manolos
40% of you said your focus was getting out of debt
23% of you said you were waiting to invest until you learned more about investing (trust us, we hear you)
11% of you bought an apartment or house with it and now most of your “investments” are “mortgage payments”
FInally, an impressive 20% of you said you rocked it all — stocks, funds, etc.
We're curious — how interested would you guys be in seeing more investing tips or stuff like that on this site? Maybe one shortish post per week about what a different kind of saving vehicle is (we just recently heard about the concept of a
health spending account, for example, and also just realized we can get frequent flyer points for
shopping at Sephora) or some other tip like that? (We know, comments are a bit screwed up at the moment — you have to click above where it says “comments” and then scroll all the way to the bottom of the screen to post your comment.)
I am always looking for useful frequent-shopper programs—Sephora has my details, and I did get a lovely collection of mini-presents around my birthday, but I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle of carrying around that little key fob. (Okay, I’m lazy.) But are there others that are useful? Like the Borders \ BN? My loyalty can be purchased! For actually very little!
Would love to learn/read about investment tips from other young, hip, cool female professionals. I have zero clue about stocks, bonds, or any other securities, or even real estate (wouldn’t even know where to begin to buy a house). I’m in my late 20s and it’s about time I learn these “adult” matters. Great idea and I appreciate you asking for our input.
yes please!!
Yes, definitely more financial advice-y things, please! And thank you!
I agree. Would love more financial advice, investing tips, etc, especially now that I’m going into my first “real” job, which means that at 25 and married for 2 yrs, my husband and I will finally have money to invest, pay off debts, etc, but we want to be smart about how we do it.
Thanks!
