Thank you! I was just doing a search for some business wear. I am starting at my firm in about one week, and am about 7 months pregnant. Hopefully, I’ll find some cute things. I want to invest in one maternity business suit. Any suggestions?

W.O.C. – I remember you telling us when you found out you were pregnant and you weren’t sure how to approach your new job. What did you end up doing and how did it go? I remember there was an issue with some people getting deferred and others not and whether should offer to be in the deferred class.

I also recall the post and would love to hear an update!

You guys have great memories. Since I was studying for the bar, I wanted to tell my firm sooner rather than later. I told them in mid June, and they were fine with it. They told me to “come on down” and still were excited for me to start (I was selected as the summer to start early because of my previous career & other advanced degree, and I am in a specific technical department).
My due date is 12/4, which can mean anything from 11/20-12/18. They told me to take as much time as I needed for maternity. Although I would like to take just 4 weeks, I probably will take 6-8. I hope all will be well with my health (So far pregnancy has been pretty uneventful -yeah!), and I can work up until or very close to delivery.
Right now I am just trying to outfit myself. I went on Amazon and bought a a few pants, some dresses, and a few skirts, shells, spanx (who knew they made them for the pregnant ladies), and bras (went from a 36C-42D!). The total was about $500. I plan on investing in one suit, and will rotate all this stuff for the fall. I already have a ton of blazers that I will wear open, and another mentor attorney is sending me some gear.
Thank you guys for thinking about me. And if you have any suggestions about where to get the suit from please let me know. Enjoying my last week and a half of bar recovery (I’m sure my husband wishes I got off the couch).

Yay, congratulations on everything. I figured that they’d be understanding and it would work out okay.
