Suit of the Week

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional. We're loving the fit, comfort, and summer breath-ability for this week's suit, from Brooks Brothers. We wish it came in black as well as the powder blue, but we still think the powder blue is a classic, wearable color for a casual day at the office leading into an outdoorsy summer event. We'd wear a white tee-shirt or blouse beneath it, accessorize with good jewelry, and wear businesslike leather pumps and a structured bag. The jacket (Supima® Cotton Oxford Cropped Jacket) is $248, and the pants (Supima® Cotton Oxford Pants) are $148.Sales of note for 4/24/25:

Brooks Brothers pants ALWAYS have the “mom pooch.” And they are NOT made for ladies with long inseams. They hue quite closely to the retired wasp demographic, and the fit shows.
Yuck! Maybe for my grandmother.
Cute suit, but the pants won’t be flattering on me.
Mmm I do like the pants style actually. Not specifically these pants, but the idea in general… I’ve the sneaking suspicion that with my short legs, this just may be the kind that won’t need shortening which would be a first *ever*. Maybe I need to suck it up and take a look in the grannies department in the future, lol!
I managed to find a Brooks Brothers pair of pants that were flattering, but it’s difficult. I like the jacket, but agree the pants are too school marm.
Any feedback on BB suit fit for petite sized women?
Powder blue? Yikesa. And sorry to be mean but structured bags have been out for a decade. Please show some more great skirt suits!
There is a skirt instead of pants. I love it. Now I just have to afford it.
I agree with the comments about the pants– brooks brothers pants are horribly unflattering, “mom pooch” is so true. I have a BB skirt suit that I love though
I like the cut, but not the pale color – it would live at the dry cleaners.
Lola – not sure about that. I would consider the YSL Muse and Prada Bowler both to be structrued bags and both are very in right now. You are right if you are thinking frame bags ala Kate Spade ten years ago though.
