Ah, the white suit. It's classic, it's modern; it says the wearer is sharp and confident (and perhaps a very neat eater). We're liking the Banana Republic version at the moment — it's a combination of cotton and modal, and looks oh so chic. (Our tip for what to wear beneath it: any color will work for the top, obviously, but be sure you get a great pair of nude boyshorts — for example, MySkins sells 20 different colors of “nude” to help you get the shade as close to your skin color as possible.) The Banana jacket is $150 (Women: White blazer – White), and matching pants are $79 (Women: 718 Martin sleek straight pant – White).![]() |

Have tried this look and I’ve ended up feeling like I’m posing as someone in the medical field…so it’s not for everyone. On the other hand, I’ve seen it look great on friends.
Also this suit wears incredibly well in 90 degree heat – I bought a couple in the last two years, and this design/material is this year’s version of the ones I own.
I haven’t bought it in white, but I have it in beige and a stone color, and both really held up well. Maybe I will try it in white this year :)
I have this blazer in khaki. Nice light jacket for the summer.
The suit is nice, but it wrinkles quite easily. Then again, I have a pretty high standard on no wrinkles. It’s just that the material is quite slick and so it maintains any wrinkle it gets instead of letting the wrinkles fall out easily like other suits.
The pants to this particular suit are unlined and completely see-through. Appropriately colored undergarments don’t help, either. I love white suits, but this just doesn’t work.
