Arianna UKIES Red Python Nappa

I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to a new shoe brand that seeks to bridge the gap between comfort and style for women's pumps: UKIES. The brand's patented nanogel technology guarantees comfort and support in every step — no more insoles or inserts. The brand currently has two main styles in their AM-PM collection, designed to take you from desk to dinner. The first is the Arianna pump (pictured), a classic 3″ pointy-toe pump that comes in four colors: red python nappa, black nappa, gold nappa, and beige patent, for $199. The second is the Paris, a 3.5″ heel with a .5″ platform; it comes in black and blush nappa, as well as a black and navy patent, all priced at $209. Both shoes come in half and whole sizes, 6-11.

I think they're both great looking shoes, so I'm excited to announce that five lucky readers will win a pair of shoes of their choosing. It's easy to enter: leave a comment below (please include your email address!) and tell us: what's the most important thing you look for in a pair of office heels?

  1. A combo of classic look and comfort, which is largely related to height for me–I try to keep my heel height around 2.5″, which is a surprisingly hard height to find to decent-looking work pumps (most are 3″)

  2. I look for a classic yet unique heel — I do not like to wear shoes which look like everyone else!

  3. Something that gives me enough height to look my clients in the eye but still lets me keep up with the partner who watched waaayy too much west wing and loves his walk and talk.

  4. For office heels, it is most important that they be sleek, with clean lines, AND allow me to walk with confidence and strength. Bonus points for beautiful colors and finishes!

  5. I look for a sharp, classic style with a moderate, walkable heel. These shoes look great!

  6. Honestly, I have never worn heels to work! I’m an engineer. If I win the heels, they’ll be for weekend and evening use only.

  7. I agree with those who have said classic style/shapes with a unique detail. As a young professional, I like to use my shoes as a way of infusing some of my personality into a business outfit.

  8. As many others have said, heels need to be comfortable without sacrificing style. This is mainly why 99% of my shoes are flats!

  9. Ones where I can walk comfortably on concrete or thick carpeting without wobbling.

  10. First, I have to be able to walk in them with out tottering around like a toddler in mom’s heels—that means backless styles, too tall heels, and some d’orsay styles are out. Second, comfort.

  11. A balance of comfort and style. I like to have both a few classic shapes/colors and a couple pair of more interesting shoes on hand at any given time so I don’t get bored!

  12. Comfort, including ease of walking (heel not too high or too skinny). Sounds like a great new shoe!

  13. Comfort and style with a bit of heel height. (Bonus if the heel height already works with the length of my work pants.)

  14. I like comfortable (3″) heels that won’t be easily destroyed if I have to wear them on the sidewalk (walking to a business lunch or networking event). I hate plastic heels that look tattered after one wear outside.

  15. I look for versatility without being boring….For that reason, I love great metallics, nudes, and subtle patterns.

  16. Classic style with a walkable heel height and a shoe that does rub my narrow heels.

  17. I walk in my heels more than I should, so I look for a heel that is no more than 2.5 inches high. I’ve found that a padded footbed also helps immensely, as well as a wider fit. In terms of style, since I go with small heels, I tend to go with pointy toes pumps – I think they’re dressier than round toe and I can tolerate them just as well as round toe pumps.

  18. Versatility. Don’t want to waste tons of money on work shoes so I like to have 3-4 pairs that serve all work outfit purposes.

  19. Comfort while being cute. I don’t have time for sore feet, but I also don’t want to look frumpy.

  20. I love to wear classic styles that give me added height and confidence, but are also comfortable enough to walk around all day in without my soles hurting or my heels popping out.

  21. Beautiful shoes – classic shape, 3-4 inch heels that are easy to walk in.

  22. Comfortable and stylish. Won’t break the bank. Not super tall (I’m already 5’9″). And available in my size 9.5 (why so many brands stop making half sizes after 9 is beyond me)!

  23. Tough enough to withstand NY streets and comfy enough to make it all the way through happy hour

  24. Most days, I’m sitting at my desk all day, so I can sacrifice some comfort for style. But on days when I have to do a training session or presentation, I will plan my entire outfit around those shoes I have that are comfortable to stand in for 4-5 hours. And it’s very, very few of them. I love giving presentations in winter because I can wear boots or booties that are so much more comfortable than heels.

  25. Number one is comfort but I don’t want to have to sacrifice too much style to be comfortable.

  26. I definitely look for comfort first, and then versatility. I’m a big fan of minimalist looks, so the less decorated, plainer shoes appeal to me- but good construction and shape are important. the shoe arch is also really important in relation to all day wearability, so its something I look closely at.

  27. Comfort is most important. I like a thicker heel and an almond shaped toe and about 2 to 2.5 inches. I’ve only been able to find one pair of pointed toe shoes ever that actually followed the shape of my foot. Usually the shoe starts to cut in immediately after the ball of the foot, forcing my big toe into a bunion shape, which is uncomfortable and terrible for my feet. I also think that thicker heels look much sleeker when they’re more of a modified triangle shape where they’re very thin at the heel and then get a little wider, but are definitely longer than wide, if that makes sense (as opposed to a straight block heel).
