Comfort and sleek style.
I look for comfort and polish. I want to be able to wear my heels all day, and that they look polished and professional. Additional style elements that add some fashion statement or uniqueness are a bonus.
Flattering, classic shape that has enough room in the toe box to accommodate the swelling that naturally comes towards the end of the day. Also a heel that isn’t too short, but allows for enough stability so that I’m not wobbling. It’s also important that the shoes can be re-soled and polished so that I don’t have to throw them away after they wear out.
Most of my shoes tend toward funky/casual–I could probably use some classic/suit shoes.
Definitely walkability, but beyond that I gravitate towards classic shapes with interesting details.
I love a shoe that has all the makings of a classic pump but with an extra little something that distinguishes the shoe from all others. Quality is also key, I hate having to re-heel a “good” pair of shoes before I’ve even had a chance to really wear them a ton (I’m looking at you Charles David).
Looking for professionally stylish – high heel, not too trendy, not dowdy; but also not noticeably stylish (i.e., I want a stylish woman to notice my shoes, but not an unstylish man).

Lately I’ve been liking a 3″ heel and a pointy or almond toe for the office. Not cut too low on the sides, no platform, in a fun color.
A classic design that holds my foot IN with enough substance to the heel that I’m not tottering around work on ice picks and enough padding that I can make it through the day.
Comfort, style and reasonable price – need all three, not necessarily in the order listed.
And real leather/suede, not patent.
Must be comfortable, not too high, and classic with a twist. I love subtle details like a zip detail on the back of the heel or a crocodile finish.
I like the look of a pointy-toe, but often find it painful after a long day.
i need a shoe that can handle running up and down stairs and also look stylish. if it’s a platform, i prefer it be a secret platform.
Comfort minus frump!
I look for shoes that don’t use synthetic materials in the soles because for some (embarrassing) reason, synthetic material makes my feet smell!
Comfortable shoes with a classic look are most important when shopping for work shoes.
I don’t wear heels all that often, and part of the reason is that too many of them feel like I’m balancing on my toes, instead of the ball of my foot – and skinny heels don’t help either.
I probably need to step up to better shoes, but its a chicken and the egg problem – I rarely wear buy heels because I find them uncomfortable. I find heels uncomfortable, so I’m hesitant to spend a lot of money on them.
Free shoes would go a long way toward helping this problem!
Wide sizes for those of us with duck feet!
Comfort (the ability to walk at least several blocks in themto/from) and a little bit of interest (but still fine for conservative offices). Most of all, I like heels that actually keep their caps on and don’t get stuck in sidewalk cracks…because I somehow tend to find ALL of them.
I have to be able to run between a few buildings/sites, so style that I can wear ALL day (and night!).
Shoes that are easy to walk in! I don’t want to be known as the person who came to work wearing shoes they can’t walk in.
I’m only 5’0, so I need to have a heel around 3″ and I need to be able to walk quickly to keep up with taller people. I’d say the comfort factor always wins. I’d wear heels all day long if they were comfortable, but usually they are not. I have a drawer full of shoes so that I can switch either to flatter shoes when my feet hurt, or into heels for a meeting.
The first thing I look for is whether the shoes look professional (not too high of a heel or platform, neutral color), then I look for comfort.

The ability to stand and walk for 8 hours
Height! Tall enough to give me the appearance of a longer leg, but short enough that if I need to help move chairs, tables etc. for a meeting, I can still do so.
Shoes that I can comfortably walk in – and actually keep pace with my colleagues.
I look for reasonable comfort, contemporary styling (currently to me that means pointy toes), and I give bonus points for fun details like striped heels.
My shoes for work need to be comfortable and allow me to walk down the hall with my male colleagues at their fast pace, while still being stylish and feminine. And I like them to be tall enough to make not seem so petite!
Comfortable heel height aside, I look for a great colour and quality! Even brightly coloured pumps can have a dull look, but quality materials can make a muted nude look amazing. I am always looking for a shoe made of great material in a colour that pops.
The most important thing I look for in office shoes is that it fits in with my wardrobe and stays on my feet when I walk!

I look for comfort while standing/walking and for a shoe that seems to be well-made.
I go for classic shape, comfort, and kitten heels where possible- a little more than flats but not too high
I’m looking for the ability to actually walk in the shoes without looking like an idiot clomping around. My work shoes tend to be low wedges, mostly Cole Haan with Nike Air technology because they are comfortable, with sufficient arch support, and are still stylish.
Shoes that are look professional but are also super comfortable.
Classic styling, quality leather, and comfortable.
#1 important thing with work shoes are professional while still cute and fun to wear all day.
