Arianna UKIES Red Python Nappa

I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to a new shoe brand that seeks to bridge the gap between comfort and style for women's pumps: UKIES. The brand's patented nanogel technology guarantees comfort and support in every step — no more insoles or inserts. The brand currently has two main styles in their AM-PM collection, designed to take you from desk to dinner. The first is the Arianna pump (pictured), a classic 3″ pointy-toe pump that comes in four colors: red python nappa, black nappa, gold nappa, and beige patent, for $199. The second is the Paris, a 3.5″ heel with a .5″ platform; it comes in black and blush nappa, as well as a black and navy patent, all priced at $209. Both shoes come in half and whole sizes, 6-11.

I think they're both great looking shoes, so I'm excited to announce that five lucky readers will win a pair of shoes of their choosing. It's easy to enter: leave a comment below (please include your email address!) and tell us: what's the most important thing you look for in a pair of office heels?

  1. I want professional and cute/slightly sexy-looking shoes that won’t mutilate my feet. I spend a good part of my day running from court house to jail to office and I need my shoes to function! I’m generally looking for a mid height heel, but that’s because the selection of interesting and substantial flats (not ballet) is so woefully lacking.

  2. I need comfort (lots of foot issues) but I love how a classic pair of heels makes me feel more polished. Flats often feel too casual and often aren’t that comfortable anyway!

  3. Something professionally edgy. Shoes should function as an accessory – if my clothes are conservative, the shoes push a boundary. Plus, I look for a heel that makes me taller than my (male) boss!

  4. I have stopped wearing heels on a daily basis in my business casual office, but on the rare occasion I have to wear them, I am struggling to find ones that I don’t want to rip off within 30 minutes. Willing to give these a try.

  5. Shoes that don’t pinch my toes and are wide enough for my bunions (which I got from ill-fitting pointe shoes during my early ballet training…I learned the importance of a well-fitting shoe at age 10). I also like a combination of classic with some style via color, a unique detail, etc. My favorite shoes which I get endless compliments on are a pair of beautiful red patent kitten heels from Trotters. Their wide width is perfect for my feet, and I can stride up and down our slippery hardwood hallways and between conference rooms without pain or wobbling from a too-high heel. And while some of their styles border on frumpy, these ones do not. They’re the right pop of color peeking out from charcoal or black dress pants.

  6. Comfort hands down. No matter how cute your shoes are, you look ridiculous if you can’t walk in them.

  7. Comfort and style. Not frumpy, but classic. And versatile with many outfits would be a plus.

  8. Honestly, the most important thing to me is that my office heels are comfy and I don’t look like a hooker. I realize those are diametrically opposite things, but those are my parameters.

  9. Chic and wearable. Wearable = comfortable, durable, and workable with pants or skirts/dresses.

  10. The first thing I look for is heel height – short enough to move or walk distances comfortably, but tall enough to be stylish! I also think the shape of the toe matters quite a bit; a tapered almond shape is perfect!

  11. For work, comfort is most important… If I can’t stand/walk without either pain or looking like a puppet, they aren’t worth it!

  12. Comfort, first and foremost! I have to be able to walk in them all day without my feet swelling or getting achy. They also cannot cram my toes. So that means a wide enough toe box and a lower heel.

  13. I definitely want comfort since i have to run from meeting to meeting most of the day. I prefer a Mary Jane style or something that will keep my feet in and secure. I typically like a 1.5-2 inch heel

  14. Comfort. I can style something less fashionable so that it looks good, but I can’t style blisters

  15. Comfort is definitely the most important trait for my office heels. That and not being so high I trip going up and down stairs!

  16. 2″ heel, classic style and I can wear it all day… I’ve got 3 flights of stairs to hike up!

  17. I look for low heels that are comfortable but also stylish. It’s nice when I can wear a pair all day long and still feel like I can walk around in them in the evening.

  18. If you can’t walk in your heels, you look unprofessional. And if you just go for comfort, then you generally miss out on femininity. I want to look pulled together without being in agony.

  19. Most of all comfort– I must be able to walk to a meeting with them on and not want to immediately take them off. But I also want them to be cute and not frumpy, and built to last!

  20. Pretty, yet comfortable enough to walk on the brutal marble floors of certain office buildings, stable enough to navigate the ridiculously efficient heel-eating cobblestone portions of crosswalks, and yet still have enough cushion to be able to walk on concrete sidewalks to the bus stop and then from bus to house. (It is possible that such a shoe must be made from unicorns and have an insole of rainbows…)

  21. Height and closed toe! I don’t like open toes in the office for some reason , and I really hate when I see younger women tottering around in platforms meant for clubbing.

After that, I love ones with metal details like buckles.

  22. I look for heels that I can walk in for half a mile without hobbling. I tend to walk a lot, hate carrying a second pair of shoes, and love the way heels look.

  23. Non-negotiable factors: real leather, and a toebox that is wide relative to the heel (although my feet are a normal width, my heels are very narrow, making me duck-footed overall).

  24. I walk a lot, so comfort is important and versatility so that they work with a lot of different outfits.
