Arianna UKIES Red Python Nappa

I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to a new shoe brand that seeks to bridge the gap between comfort and style for women's pumps: UKIES. The brand's patented nanogel technology guarantees comfort and support in every step — no more insoles or inserts. The brand currently has two main styles in their AM-PM collection, designed to take you from desk to dinner. The first is the Arianna pump (pictured), a classic 3″ pointy-toe pump that comes in four colors: red python nappa, black nappa, gold nappa, and beige patent, for $199. The second is the Paris, a 3.5″ heel with a .5″ platform; it comes in black and blush nappa, as well as a black and navy patent, all priced at $209. Both shoes come in half and whole sizes, 6-11.

I think they're both great looking shoes, so I'm excited to announce that five lucky readers will win a pair of shoes of their choosing. It's easy to enter: leave a comment below (please include your email address!) and tell us: what's the most important thing you look for in a pair of office heels?

  1. Two things are of equal important to me in a pair of office heels: (1) they make me look fabulous, and (2) I can wear them all day and feel no pain.

  2. I need a pair of heels that are not overly loud walking past patient rooms on laminate flooring, comfortable enough to stand in all morning during rounds, yet cute enough that it doesn’t look like I raided my grandmother’s closet.

  3. As others have said, comfort is key. I have very picky feet. I have a wide-ish foot with a high arch. The comfort and support of this brand sound great, but alas, no wide width. Why oh why can’t shoe manufacturers make wide sizes in cute shoes?! I’m not a huge fan of the typical “comfort” brand look, which are often the only brands to offer wide widths. I tend to have more luck finding cute flats that don’t kill my feet so I’ve almost given up on heels.

  4. They’ve gotta be classic while comfortable. When I’m at work, the last thing I want to be thinking about is if my feet hurt!

  5. I LOVE comfortable, chic, and colorful heels that reflect my style. My heels are my main accessory. I always choose my heels and work my outfit around the heels I pick for the day.

  6. Comfortable and classic: that’s what I look for in a pair of office heels. If I’m walking to the courthouse or otherwise need to be on my feet for long stretches, I want to be able to walk quickly without killing my feet. And I also look for heels that are universal enough to wear with almost anything without drawing too much attention.

  7. I could have sworn I posted on this thread, but my comment is gone. Anyway… most important is “reasonably comfortable,” followed by “current styling” (which means “pointy toes” to me at the moment), and bonus points for fun details like striped heels.

  8. For me, work shoes should be stylish, but also MUST provide all day comfort so I can see patients, run to meetings, and teach!

  9. Comfortable, yet stylish. Too often I buy gorgeous shoes just to take them off the second I get back from court because they are so painful! That said, I won’t sacrifice style for comfort, so I usually just end up limping around the house after work.

  10. Good support and versatility!! love anything that works office to dinner (and, as need be, back to office)

  11. The most important thing I look for in work shoes is comfort. I’m on my feet all day most days in court, so I need to be comfortable.

  12. 2.5-3 inch heel, wide toe box, and comfortable enough to stand in all day. Other than that I would kill to have heels where the leather on the heel doesn’t get banged up within a month or two.

  13. The perfect combination of comfort and classic style. I have a sleek professional style, and love having perfect heels that don’t feel fussy, don’t rub the wrong way, and let me run around from court to meetings without too much pain. I’m still looking for the gold standard in shoes like this!

  14. I look for fit. If the heel doesn’t fit well your feet will hurt quickly

  15. What’s the most important thing I look for in work heels? Comfort that doesn’t look orthopedic! Naturalizer used to have this down pat, but recently they’ve veered into more casual and/or grandma territory. Why, Naturalizer, why?

  16. I look for the right blend of comfort, a non-dowdy design, and a mid-height heel (2.5-3.5 inches).

  17. Shoes that stand up to the sidewalks of NYC and let me run to meetings when I’m perpetually give minutes late.

  18. I look first for comfort and secondly for style. I don’t want to wear granny heels, but since I’m gonna be in them all day, they need to be comfortable.

  19. Comfort, comfort, comfort, comfort… did I mention comfort. If I can’t make it from the train into the office without blister, they’re instantly out.

  20. 1. Shoes with sufficient padding at the forefoot.
    2. Potential for straps or shoes that are wide enough in the front but narrow enough in the back
    3. Shoes that don’t pinch my little toe or are wide enough
    4. 2-3 inches. On the 3 inches side with a slight .5in platform
    5. A sturdy enough heel that won’t leave me wobbly or get stuck in a manhole
    6. Good pitch.
    7. Classic style
    8. Non slip

Oops that’s 8 things I look for in a shoe!

  21. I want pumps that look good on my chubby feet and that will get me somewhat comfortably through a day that includes standing, sitting and walking.

  22. A pair of heels that are durable with out looking industrial, if that makes sense. I’ve given up on all-day comfort (sitting with my heels off right now), but that would be awesome if such thing existed!

  23. Comfort is obviously the key, but I also look for non platform shoes (or hidden platform) workhorses that I can wear to the ground.

  24. I can walk at least 10 blocks in them & I like the way they look. I always regret it when I give into shoes that don’t work on both fronts!

  25. I like a shoe that is a multi-tasker. They have to look cute with jeans or a suit, and usually a solid color that will work with a variety of color options (this includes real colors – light pink and royal blue are two of my current favorites). I also have to make it across a flagstone walkway, so a shoe that has a solid heel is necessary.

  26. Comfort first, in a dream world with padding and arch support–and they can’t rub. Then classic styling. All too often this means black kitten heels below 2″, because in the search for overall comfort I’ll trade some arch support/padding for lower heels.

  27. Comfort is a must for me along with durability. I want shoes to feel good and last!

  28. I want shoes that dont slow me down when speed walking after my (much taller) boss up and down and around the office so I can hear what he’s saying and get my work done!

  29. I like shoes that are stylish and comfortable – without being too “Saturday night” or too frumpy. These seem like they’d fit the bill!

  30. Comfort is by far the most important criteria in my seemingly never- ending quest for the perfect office heels. I would LOVE to give these a try!

  31. work heels have to look good and feel great and they need to go the distance. I run through more airports than I care to admit.
