Wednesday’s TPS Report: Boden’s Brondesbury Blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We're loving this boiled wool blazer from Boden (available in the cheerful honey yellow, pictured, as well as gray and navy). We love the structure and fit of the blazer, as well as the stretch and give of boiled wool — this jacket will look like a blazer but feel a bit like a sweater. You'd probably get the most wear out of the gray color, but oh, that yellow — we'd wear it with gray slacks and a white blouse (or perhaps a blouse that had some purple accents, as pictured). If we wore it with a black tee beneath it we'd be sure to work other colors into the outfit, to avoid looking like a bumble bee. It's $148 at BodenUSA.com, available in UK sizes from 4 through 20. 1. I’ve been wondering about Boden’s quality. Does anyone have experience with their products?

  2. Killah! Especially if you have already made manager, partner, etc. If you have power, this blazer will affirm it. If you don’t have it yet, you can only wear this if your manager/mentor/culture says it’s OK.

  3. Boden’s quality is GREAT! I have been impressed with every piece I have ordered from them…(and that has been quite a few since 2007!) If you are not pleased with the item, they normally have free returns (label is included with your package). Some of their items are a bit casual, but they are great for Casual Fridays and weekends. From my experiences, the clothing also does well in the wash.

  4. wow – this site is AWESOME and fun . . . does anyone know the quality/durability of these clothes?

  5. I like the suggestions for how to wear it. I don’t look good in yellow, but if I did, I would try to rock this. Nice choice!

  6. Jane – Can you and others tell how Boden’s sizes run? Based on their charts I’m between two sizes.

  7. Fabulous! I was just turned on to Boden yesterday … they’re in the air! And this would look amazing with grey – good call Corporette

  8. I agree that Boden’s quality is great and their fabrics are durable. They have great sales too.
Delivery to Australia is really quick, generally 4-5 days and the packaging is solid and weatherproof.
I especially recommend the girls clothing too, good quality, fun patterns and completely appropriate for the ages, no bare stomachs or short shorts.

  9. Hi Leslie,
I think Boden’s sizes run true-to-size or just a little large. Go by the measurements, not the “size.” That being said, there have been times where I have actually ordered two sizes and then returned the one that I didn’t like using the free returns option. If you google Boden coupons you can typically find a free shipping deal too. Good luck!

  10. I haven’t bought the women’s clothes, but their kids clothes are of really great quality. My daughter grows out of her Boden clothes way before they would ever wear out.

  11. Thanks Jane. There is another beautiful jacket – the Parisienne. I’ve received these catalogues for some time, but never ordered. So happy to have found this site.

  12. I love the Parisienne jacket, I want it! This one is nice too. No jackets for me for months so I can’t buy now because I will just have to put them in the closet. Love Boden.
