I need to buy a gift for a good friend’s 40th birthday. She is a physician and a mom of 2 young kids. Pretty fashion forward, but also practical. Would like to spend about $100. Any ideas?

A day shopping together–a babysitter, lunch at a fun spot, browse boutiques and try stuff on, give her a gift cert to use later (to remove the embarrassment of her wanting your approval on what she spends it on), and maybe coffee or drinks at the end.
That’s kind of the standard response. I wouldn’t’ve liked it because I felt like I never saw my kid enough. What I would’ve liked would be tickets to supper out & a waterpark or B’way show to go to with him.
Or how bout some kind of Memory Land gift, getting her mementos, pix and videos organized in some format where it’s easy for her to browse and reminisce?

Sorry. Should be “supper out and tickets to…” Unless restaurants where you are require tickets!

Does anyone know anything about the CAPM Certification? I’m trying to move into Project Management, but I have little experience. Does the CAPM helpa t all, or is just kinda “eh”?Thanks!
eek
If you meet the eligibility requriements to sit for the PMP exam, that’s the exam I would take because it is more recognized (watch out for the PMI kool-aid!). If you’re not close to meeting the requirements, take the CAPM – it will show your boss you’re serious about the field. And, use the Rita Mulcahey book!
PS – hours spent working on a project, not just managing, a project, count towards the 4,500/7,500 hour requirement. Apologies if you knew this.
