As the wife of an elementary school teacher, I appreciated the thread about holiday gifts for teachers on the Moms site – a lot of really thoughtful parents posted. I won’t lecture on the importance of the job, low salary, etc. We all know it. But I’ll say that it’s tough so if you can do something for the teacher, please do.
I was surprised Amal choosing not to wear her ring in certain situations was newsworthy. I’m divorced now, but I used to not to wear my engagement ring when volunteering with Legal Aid or similar organizations. There were times it felt insensitive to the client. (And my ring was nowhere near Amal sized!!)
