Kat, I was so proud of you being quoted in the NYTimes that I told my dad, and sent him the article. He said that he remembered reading it and that is why he also believes that Corporette is a great resource for women seeking to acheive in this society ruled by men. He told me he often thinks of me as a person who could benefit from reading more of your wisdom on this sight! YAY Kat!
On another score, I read the HBR article about how smart people often sabotage themselves in the work place. Although I was NOT one of the smartest persons in High School (measured by my test scores), I knew how to get a long with peeople well. I think that is why I was able to acheive so much AFTER my first job serving subpeenies. Having worked here for quite a few years, I now understand the value of cooperation and dealing with others with no heirs of grandeur. I think that is why I get along so well at the firm! YAY!!!

OMG the tweet from Eddie Scarry about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just about made me blow a gasket for too many reasons to list. Good grief. I just can’t. And good for her for calling him out on it.
Good grief.
I just can’t.

So incredibly offensive. I liked Twitter’s response, though!

I’ve assumed (and been told) that the one-page resume rule only applies when you’re very early in your career. I could conceivably condense my resume from two pages to one, but it would basically just be a list of orgs/titles and dates with no description at all. That type of resume would only be useful to a person who was extremely familiar with my field and what various titles signify at the specific companies I’ve worked at.
