Kat, I think it is great that Bloomberg is doing something to train us to help break the wage gap (and the glass seeling) thru education. There is one thing not mentioned in the article which really helped me over the hump on this, and that was my dad. With the proper guidance and direction from either your dad, your husband or your boyfriend, we can all do far better in negotiations relating to promotions and salary. We all have select attributes that endear us to our male bosses, but negotiation was NOT my strong suite. So after I told my dad that I thought I deserved better pay and a shot at being partner, he sprung into action and pretty much did the whole negotiating for me. Now not everyone has a dad who was in the Milatary, top government and the private sector leadership positions to do this for you, but you do have hidden resources if you have other family members, your husband or even your boyfriend, who all will do better by you if they provide you with this kind of assistance.
I knew that my ex would be worthless with the manageing partner, so I went DIRECTLY to Dad, who was able to get me everything I wanted and much more. And we can ALL get that provided that we are good and are in demand, which we are as professional women. The country needs more good women to run things, and we must speak up and get help doing so like Bloomberg already knows. I encourage the ENTIRE hive to read the Bloomberg article, together with my ideas, and thereafter we will all have the proper tools to get what we want, for a change, from the companies we work for that have long put us on the sidelines while advancing men who were clearly even less competent then us. Those days are EGGZZOVER! YAY!!!!!!
