  1. I just bought these shoes 2 weeks ago and they are amazingly comfortable (and cute to boot). They are also available at Nordstrom.

  2. I love the idea of “placeholder” shoes. When I lived and worked in NY I was constantly looking for the perfect pair, because I spent waaaaaay too many morning stumbling through the subways in my Nine West heels (what? it’s all I could afford at the time!). Now that I’m in LA it’s less of a problem — my (decidedly higher-end) heels can handle the walk down the stairs, out of my house and to and from the car — but if I ever do the public transportation commute ever again, I would definitely invest in at least two types of placeholders: flats that I could wear with skirts or shorter pants (hello, lovely Prada loafers?) and a pair of black, comfortable, workable heels to wear with my longer pants.
