Something on your mind? Chat about it here. As warmer weather slowly arrives, I’ve kind of been in a maxi dress mood. I’m loving some of the striped ones I’m seeing, like this fun one by Puella (available in grey, navy, and mint, in regular and petites) — colors, the stripes, the different pattern, the uneven hem… very cool. It’s $88 at Anthropologie.com. Market Day Striped Maxi Seen a great piece you’d like to recommend? Please e-mail tps@corporette.com. (L-2)Workwear sales of note for 4.25.24

I’m stuck in moderation, so I thought I’d post this without the links:
I’m sure this has been discussed to death, but what shoes would you wear with a navy pantsuit in the summer? Black patent? I just bought 2 new navy pantsuits, one solid and one pinstriped, and I rarely wear navy. The pinstriped is a dark navy with a grey stripe, and the solid is a slightly lighter color navy. I will likely wear a purple, green, light blue, or cream top with them. Maybe coral with the solid one.

I think you can do nude-for-you shoes, light-but-not-white shoes, black shoes, or brown shoes.

Also navy, grey or purple depending on your top color.

Thanks for the responses, that’s pretty much what I was thinking. What color purse do you wear with nude shoes? I have a tan one, which seems like it would be neutral enough to go with the various colors of tops. I’d love to buy a purple bag, but wouldn’t that clash if I wore a bright colored top? I’m just never sure what color bag to carry with nude shoes, but I am really wanting to buy a new bag.

I love colored shoes with navy. Red, yellow, green, teal, you name it. Don’t feel like you have to match your top — as Stacey and Clinton always say, your pieces don’t have to “match,” they just have to “go!”

Does any one know how do deal with a boyfriend situation where I have done everything my boyfriend wants (emotionally and sexually) over the last 2 years, but he does not respect me enough to want to marry me?
How can I get him to give me a diamond ring? I thought I would be engaged by now, but he is not even hinting at it.

I do not know, but I believe Ellen may have some great tips.

You can do back flips and bunny hops, but if he doesn’t want to marry YOU, he won’t. Have you asked him if he’s thought about you and he getting married?
big dipper
Talk to him about how you want to get married. Proposals don’t magically appear out of thin air. They usually happen after both parties have sat down, discussed their future goals and plans and acknowledged they both see a committed future together.

What is the Philosophy microdermabraision product that several of you ladies use and like? I can’t find it when I search past threads, but I know it’s there!

Anyone have tips on how to organize papers at work?
It seems like my desk is overflowing. Officially our office is paperless, so it’s not the actual files that are the problem — it’s the supporting information, research, notes, org charts and all the little other things that pile up.
Binders? Hanging folders? Magazine boxes?

I don’t think the actual supplies are the issue – more of making the effort to dump everything relating to the same project in some kind of container. The kind of container you want to use depends on the average quantity of paper you have for each project and the number of projects you have, but I would suggest being consistent across projects. And then find a logical way to store said containers, eg. by client / project name / date, so that you know where everything is.
