Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Asymmetrical Gathered T

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Gap Asymmetrical TI love nothing more than finding a great basic on sale – and judging from the reviews on Gap.com this top is the rare find in that it is both loose and comfortable — but also slimming. Brilliant. The “hushed violet” (pictured) and black are on the deepest sale ($17.99); there’s also a plum for $19.99 and a “twilight navy” for $24.99. The tee was originally $29.50 at Gap. Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Double-Layer Open Cardi

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Gap Double-layer open cardi I picked up this sweater a few weeks ago at the Gap, and I really like it — it’s lightweight, soft, and the gray-on-gray layers make it interesting but nothing crazy. I haven’t tried it with a belt, yet, but I think it would look great with a wide one. It’s $59.50 in sizes XS – XXL (colors charcoal, navy, black, and purple). Gap Double-layer open cardi

Thursday’s TPS Report: Wool Blend Wrap

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Gap Wool blend wrapThis sweater does double duty: it’s a cozy layer of warmth for the office (or even a light jacket) — and it’s an inexpensive way to try a number of trends at once: beige, the dolman sleeved circle cardigan, and this one even veers into cape territory (which, oh yes, is a trend I never in a zillion years thought I would like, except I really, really do). Maybe I’ve been fashion blogging too long, but this sweater is lovely — I’d wear it with dark brown pants and a white top for the office, perhaps with a pop of red somewhere in the mix. It’s $69.50 at Gap (available in both “bergama neutral,” pictured, and camel heather). Gap Wool blend wrap

Thursday’s TPS Report: Herringbone band blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Gap Herringbone band blazerGap has a number of cute items right now (cardigans and t-shirts and blazers!) and our favorite is this hip herringbone blazer, which reminds us of (a more expensive) one we featured a few weeks ago.  We’d wear it with a blouse and a sweater vest to really play up the “professor-chic look,” as they call it, but we also think it would be great on a casual Friday with jeans and a tee.  It’s $98 at Gap. Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Open Cardigan

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Gap Open CardiganReader K suggests this cardigan, noting that it’s “very lightweight and versatile.  I bought it in gray and mocha.”  We like it, particularly the simple look — there are no ruffles, no buttons, no pockets, no snaps, no draped fabric — nothing.  We also like that it comes in regular, petites, and talls, in sizes from XS – XXL.  It’s available in mocha (pictured), navy, gray, white, purple, and Hawaiian red.  Gap Open Cardigan
