About a year ago, we were on the hunt for a super thin cotton turtleneck to layer under our sleeveless dresses and short-sleeved blazers.  We wanted something very thin, high quality, comfortable, and washable — with slightly longish sleeves if possible.  And, a year ago, it seemed like we could barely find one anywhere.  So when we saw this “whisper thin” turtleneck at the Gap, we had to point it out — it comes in a variety of sizes and a bevy of colors.  And, best of all, it’s only $26.  Women: Whisper thin turtleneck - true black knit

Our love affair with Gap continues this season with this cotton/silk blend pleated-neck top.  Alas, it only comes in earth brown and a pink floral, but try the earth brown and that gorgeous neckline beneath a beige or gray suit.  With Gap’s weekend sale, it’s available now for $28 (was $48).  Women: Pleated-neck top - earth brown

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we’re kind of loving the Gap right now. This new fitted tie-neck shirt — part of designer Patrick Robinson’s new aesthetic at Gap — is modern yet vintage at the same time. We almost see Annie Hall when we look at it, but totally, completely doable for every woman; accordingly, we’d wear with wide trousers to the office. We ducked into a Gap store recently and kind of wanted to buy everything in the store.  The jersey scarves, the casual yoke shirts, the shawl cardigan, but oh, oh, especially this:  the ballet tee.  We  love the detailing on the simple t-shirt: the ballet sleeves, the tiny button at the hem (and at the back of the neck — it’s got a keyhole opening).  Available in white, black, a light yellow, and lavender (pictured).  (We swear we saw a light gray at the store, also.)
