If you've been reading a while, you know that for years I was kind of obsessed with purple pumps. We did entire roundups! Hunts! Just on purple heels! Except (as readers noted) they were always kind of wine-colored like this pretty heel, regardless of what I called them.
Then, much to my dismay, it became hard to find both wine-colored pumps and truly purple pumps. But right now there are a number of purplish heels out there… so color me excited.
This pump from Favorite Daughter looks great — I love the deep, winey “Bordeaux” color to the suede. The shoe is $275 at Nordstrom; you can also get it in red suede, black patent, and beige patent.

Is anyone wearing shoes with a nearly 4” heel these days? My feet have “voted with their feet” and I am out!
Dolly Parton would have. RIP Legend :-(
CNN has a nice write up on her.
True, true. She was OG.
Immediately thought: these shoes were made for her. RIP to the best of us.
Kate Middleton is. I’m 43 and have officially opted out of the high heel game.
I barely wear anything other than sneakers these days.
Me too. They are the most supportive, and most comfortable for me.
for some reason FB keeps showing me segments from SATC and there’s a scene where she gets stood up at the wedding and then RUNS after him in heels to beat him with her flowers. but i think SJP truly ran down the street in 4″ heels!! i was impressed.
I am still wearing heels, but each year I get over 40 they get smaller and smaller. My tailor is enjoying this, I am sure.
Nope. Around 2.5″ is my max.
i’m doing Strong Lifts but I’m not sure what to do with the days off. a lot of the aerobics that i like have squats and other strength training built in. any recommendations for aerobics with good music, easy to learn steps, and a good cardio for days between Strong Lifts?
Rebecca Kennedy low impact cardio in the peloton app – sometimes I bounce/jump a bit more to get my heart rate up, but it’s purely cardio no strength training and the moves are simple enough to learn but switched up enough so that it stays interesting!
what are your favorite recipes for a surplus of cherry tomatoes? going to have to start giving some to friends.

matbucha
If you run out of friends, I froze a bunch, and I’ve been just tossing them defrosted into soups, salads, eggs, and pasta dishes. I feel they’re actually a little more versatile when frozen and defrosted (I wouldn’t toss a fresh cherry tomato into all of the same dishes). They’d probably work on pizza too.
As for using them up fresh, I like them best in fattoush or Greek salad. But recently I’ve been making buffalo chicken salad and putting a bunch of them in it. I have had mixed results using them in gazpacho, but if you have a recipe you like, it uses up a lot of tomatoes at once.
Panzanella.
You can cook them in a low oven in a little bit of oil (250 degrees ish) for a long time to get something between a roasted tomato and a sundried tomato, and they’re really good – can freeze them after as well. Really great concentrated tomato flavor you can use from the freezer when tomatoes are out of season.

+ 1 million. Good cherry tomatoes oven concentrated this way are like candy. Smitten kitchen has a formal recipe if you want a more thorough writeup.
I make this tomato confit and top everything with it. https://www.feastingathome.com/tomato-confit/
The Barefoot Contessa’s pasta with sun-dried tomatoes (it has cherry tomatoes too).
Cut the tomatoes in half. Toss in a large bowl with garlic, good olive oil, lots of fresh basil cut or torn if big leaves, and some salt and pepper. Let sit for half an hour or up to two hours. Cook pasta – I like bow tie pasta for this. Toss hot drained pasta in the bowl with the tomato mixture and serve. This is an unexpectedly rich dish, so much so that even my very carnivorous husband used to count down to summer tomato season so that this could go into rotation for suppers.
Has anyone here had a breast reduction? I am mostly interested in hearing whether your insurance covered it, and if so, what cup size you are and what sort of medical history you had to support the coverage.
I am a US L so I don’t *think* it’s going to be hard to get it covered, but my medical record doesn’t reflect chronic back pain (because the cause of it is obviously being a US L and why am I going to make a doctor tell me that?). Now I’m wondering if I need to get that papered now in order to get it covered in a couple years.
Yes, you need symptoms in your record for any chance at getting covered. Also you should already be in PT if you have chronic back pain. Either it will help, and you’ll be all set, or it will demonstrate that PT doesn’t help.
