Tuesday’s TPS Report: Ribbon Cardigan & Tank

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We're not quite sure why, but this one has eluded us — we first saw it in the Neiman Marcus catalog a while ago, and then couldn't find on the website, and even now, searching for “Michael Simon” does not bring this sucker up. Anyway: We really like this cotton and cashmere sweater, which has those rare qualities of being sophisticated, playful, colorful, and black all at the same time. We like the ribbons; we like the basketweave — and we particularly like the fact that it comes in petites as well as women's sizes. We can only find a link to it on the website in women's sizes, but one can order it through the catalog: items 12a-12f in the WBT10 catalog. The cardigan was $180, now $120 ($130 for women's); the shell was $90, now $60 ($65 for women's). Michael Simon – Ribbon Cardigan & Tank

I had an easter basket as a kid with the same weave! Would be great to wear to a child’s playdate, but I don’t have any children.
This looks like something for the over-50 set.
I’m over 50 and I wouldn’t wear it
i had the same thought.
This is cute and fun. Not sure if I would wear it myself, I would definitely have to try it on first. I like it overall.
This would look frumpy and teacherly on my mom, let alone on me.
I am sure the over 70 crowd appreciates occassionally having items to chose from on this site.
This would be great for my Amazing Technicolor Estate Planning practice
:-)
While I see the appeal, it reminds me too much of those potholders I used to “weave” with loops on a plastic “loom” when I was a kid.
What a great walk down memory lane! I had one of those too!
OMG! I loved those!
As long as we’re looking at frumpy things, what do people think of this shoe? http://www.naturalizer.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=EC0218319&pg=3005582
I know, a little orthopedic looking, but they also look so comfortable, and I’ve had good luck with Naturalizer before. Can I get away with these, without looking too unstylish? On a casual day?
I recommend their more refined-looking pumps – equally comfortable, minus some of the frump. That being said, if you wear them with pants people probably won’t notice.
Oh, I do like them! But I admit, they are not the most sophisticated shoe. I would wear them under pants for days that I am not trying to impress anyone. I would also keep them for casual wear… hmm actually, I am thinking about buying them myself now lol. They do look mad comfy.
I’d go with something more like this: http://www.naturalizer.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=EC0218356&pg=3005597
wearing these now, very comfy and true to size, fyi.
Thanks. I actually just bought them this morning (but I found them for $59). Would you consider them basic black pumps like you might wear for an interview? Or is the detailing a little too obvious for that?
I have these; they’re comfortable and look great.
Anyone have any thoughts on the gray version of this shoe?
Love these. I have the gray version with black and teal accents, and I adore them. They actually give a great pop to a variety of outfits, and they are extremely comfortable given the height of the heel. The first day I wore them, I had to run – literally – to court, and they didn’t kill my feet at all.
I just got them! Use coupon code NATLOVE to save 10%. Thank you for posting the link.
Thanks for the coupon! I like this style too: http://www.naturalizer.com/Shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?p=EC0219804&pg=3005932
This reminds me of the Golden Girls.
Nope. Not doing it for me.
Ladies who lunch… at the retirement community.
It needs more shape, less busy-ness.
HAHA! Well put.
No no no no no.
Saw it, thought it was cute, but not enough to pull trigger.
Nooooooooooooo……….
FAIL
YECH.
Very “housewife”. Looks like something from long ago. Not a good idea for office or boardroom.
Yikes!! Wouldn’t buy it for $10 on a clearance rack, let alone pay $180 for it.
The ribbon trim reminds me of my easter basket when I was a kid.
Aww, it’s cute. Totally appropriate for Easter Sunday church services. Maybe on Friday with a solid color shell in one of the basket weave colors?
Black on Easter? No way… (PS No on any other day as well)
not a fan.
Wow, that sweater set is tragic. I’m pretty sure my grade school librarian wore something similar.
Ummmm….no!
Heeedious.
