Hello lovely ladies of Corporette. I have been a reader since about 2012, but rarely post. You have no reason to care about me, but I’m up for Engineer of the Year in my industry (semiconductors and electronics packaging), and of course it is me versus two older men. I am probably not able to catch up, but I’d like to make a good showing.
If you are so inclined, I’d love the support! I will post a link separately, but if you just google 3dincites, you’ll find the page and the Vote button. My name is Amy Lujan. You do have to vote in every category for a vote to count, so I understand if this is too much to ask if you aren’t in my industry. But it’s worth a try! Gotta represent the technical ladies out there. :)

Done
I voted for you! You may want to post tomorrow morning on the new thread, for more traffic.
Just voted. Current counts (if accurate) are:
Flack 40.09%
John 32.74%
Lujan 27.17%
Gotta say, the descriptions of you three are hella biased against you. Yours is a dry iteration of your credentials, theirs have effusive terms like “significantly influenced” and “leading…expertise”. Who decided on this text?
Y’all are awesome! And I do see that I posted on the least trafficked thread, oops. Will re-post tomorrow.
Ha! Good question. They grabbed this from a three sentence bio that was floating around a few years ago, when I had to specifically write a two or three sentence bio for a paper. Whoever nominated me added the last sentence about what I’ve done in the industry. There are also no rules against nominating yourself or someone else in your company, as long as you make a donation, so whoever nominated the other guys might have actually contacted them directly for a good bio.
The other thing going against me is the other two people are from well-known companies, whereas I’m from a small business. So they get name recognition, and I don’t.
And did you see the section with Cornell College of Engineering having an equal number of women and men students? Yay!
Voting ended 2/28/19 – and she won!! Yeah! Congrats!
Interesting! Thanks for posting!
How did I miss those gorgeous oxblood shoes? Who has them? Do you love?
I bought a different pair of Blondo boots (leather instead of suede), and I can’t get over how comfortable they are. I’ve worn them on two trips now without any alternate shoe, and I have no complaints.
I adore Cole Haan’s heels. Very comfortable, stylish, and reasonable height while being easy to move in.
