Our daily workwear reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

I’m loving the slightly unusual asymmetric neckline on this dress from Modern Citizen. The combination of the cool neckline with the classic A-line creates a really interesting look.

I would add some fun earrings and wear this on a day when I didn’t feel like I needed a blazer to complete my outfit.

The dress is $228 at Modern Citizen and comes in sizes XS-1X. It also comes in black.

    1. I have almost pulled the trigger on buying this a few times but haven’t bought anything from this brand before. How does the sizing run? Does the fabric pill quickly? I’m 5-4, pear-shaped, and welcome for any volume above the waist.

      1. I find the sizing similar to J Crew and Boden. The fabric is really high quality and does not pill quickly. You may need to shorten their dresses – I’m 5’7″ with a long torso and they tend to fit me really well.

      2. I’m 5’4″, 154 lbs. I tried on size L pants and ended up buying size M ones. I found the wrap dresses didn’t look good over my stomach/hips.

  1. Two recipe requests:

What are your easy slow cooker favorites for busy weeknights/working mom life? Minimal chopping requested – I need to be able to throw it in over a quick lunch break while WFH in a busy job.

Favorite vinegar coleslaw to go with pulled pork? I’ve tried a few but nothing has hit the exact right notes of tangy and yet not too sharp.
