This year I'm noticing a ton of midi skirts for work. Some are sleek and fitted, some are slip-like or pleated — but a lot of the newer options are more fluid and flowy. How are you wearing them to work (or are they weekend-only for you)? What shoes are you wearing them with for summer, and how do you plan to transition them for fall?

Five Ways to Style Midi Skirts for Work

Wear a Midi Skirt with a Matching Top

Wear a Work Midi Skirt with a Cardigan

Another look that is popular right now is wearing a midi skirt with a cardigan, where the cardigan is buttoned closed and worn by itself. (I've also seen it styled with the cardigan turned around or reversed so the buttons are on your back!)

Wear a Midi Skirt with a Blazer

This is one of the hardest looks to get right, in my opinion, because the proportions of the blazer and skirt have to work together.

A week or so ago we rounded up the trendy blazer shape in this picture — the collarless, crewnecked, cutaway blazer — and it's one of the easiest blazer shapes to wear with midi skirts, whether it's a blazer, a vest, or a sweater. (I also like that it's styled with boots; it's a great fall look.)

Pair a Midi Skirt with a Blouse

A tucked-in blouse is another classic option. This can be tricky because the skirt has to have enough structure to get a clean tuck, but you could also get the look with a bodysuit.
