Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend. iconiconMaybe it's cheesy, but when we interview, we love wearing French blue beneath a black suit. It's our feminine take on a man's shirt — not as feminine as pink or some other pastel, not as stark as white. This top is a great one for that purpose: the ruching is flattering without being distracting, and the neckline is nice and high. The price is right, too — it's $39 at Nordstrom.com. 1. This looks good on the model, but unless you’re extremely thin, most women will look pregnant in a top like this. I HATE the shirts that have a line right underneath the bust. I love your site, just not this top. :)

  2. I have several of these ruched T-shirts from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor Loft in deep apricot colors and love them. Thanks for the idea of pairing French Blue with a black suit.

  3. It’s a riff on a power cliche. Love it. Any time we can include cultural irony without ruffling feathers is a plus in my columns….

  4. Azure is so right!!! I like the French blue and black combination, but I’ve tried on this top and it just doesn’t work on my, um, curves.
