Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Jersey Twisted-Bodice Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Kay Unger Twisted-Bodice DressHappy New Year!  Today we’re liking this colorful dress from Kay Unger New York.  We like the twisted bodice, the relatively high neckline (we’d still probably wear a cami with it the first day), the long sleeves, and the unusual combination of a flattering dress with horizontal stripes.  It’s $350 at Neiman Marcus, available in sizes XS-L. Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Bottega Veneta Wool Herringbone Jacket

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Reader J suggests today’s Bottega Veneta wool herrinbgone, on sale at Net-a-Porter.  We loooove this.  The fitted shape, the interesting detail on the seams, the high-but-still-flattering collar — gorgeous.  We even like it with the sleeves scrunched up.  Gorgeous!  Was $1400, now $980 at Net-a-Porter.com — only lucky size 6 is still left.  Bottega Veneta Wool herringbone jacket

Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Mock-Neck Sweater

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Untitled pictureReader T writes in, raving about this sweater.  As she writes:

I’m sure that there are many out there who will turn their nose up at Express, but I have had always had good luck with their sweaters, including this mock turtleneck. I like the three quarter sleeve, the button detail on the sleeves, and it comes in such a variety of pretty colors. The fit is snug, but very flattering. I have the black one right now and am tempted to buy the Windsor blue, especially because they’re on sale now for $23.

We’re not that into mock-necks (not that flattering on us personally) but if we were, this looks like a great mock-neck — and for $23, it’s hard to go wrong. We love the Windsor blue (pictured). Mock-Neck Sweater

Thursday’s TPS Report: Rollin Skirt

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
French Connection is having a ton of great sales right now, including this lovely gray tulip skirt. For some reason, we’re seeing it with royal blue — perhaps a blouse or a thin knit — perhaps even a bodysuit and a high-waisted belt. Was $168, now $89, available in sizes 0 and 4-12 (sorry, size 2s). rollin skirt

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Antonio Melani “Clarissa” Cowlneck Sweater

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We’re really liking this merino wool cowlneck from Antonio Melani — particularly the slight dolman sleeves and the way you can wear the neckline multiple ways (lower, like a boatneck; higher, like a scooped cowl; or wider, almost off-the-shoulder). It seems versatile and classic at the same time, and we love the range of colors it comes in: ivory (pictured), raisin, moss, espresso, eclipse, and black. It’s $119 at Dillards, available in sizes XS-L.  Antonio Melani “Clarissa” Cowlneck Sweater

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Latico Patent Crunch Top Zip Shoulder Bag

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We’re loving this refreshing green bag from Latico. The patent will work well in rainy, cold weather (like, oh, now) and the green strikes us as just perfect — not too dark (which would relegate it to a fall/winter only bag) and not too light (which would relegate it to spring/summer). To make matters better, a 40% discount applies (through the end of today only) so instead of $189, it’s $113.  (You can search the site to see what else you can use the promotion on — search for “EXTRA40OFF”.)  Latico Patent Crunch Top Zip Shoulder Bag, Green
