Your personal style is made up of many preferences and habits — your work style vs. your off-the-clock style, how conservative or edgy your wardrobe is, the accessories you choose to complement your look, your opinions on what’s office-friendly and what isn’t, and the styles/colors/trends that you’ve decided you just don’t wear, ever. Many moons ago, I had a purple t-shirt … Read More about Your Personal Style: What Just Isn’t “You”?
As mentioned earlier: hooray, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the general public! I did a round-up a week or so ago when it opened for Rewards card members, but thought I’d revisit
Something on your mind? Chat about it here. Happy Weekend! I’ve historically been against puffer coats — but this one is barely puffy at all. Still, with a brand like North Face behind it, I’m sure it’s nice and toasty. I like the fitted style, also; it looks great for zipping around town on the weekend … Read More about Weekend Open Thread
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Happy Friday! This lovely navy and white dress (also available in ivory with black piping) looks like something I’ve seen from a much higher price point. The high neckline, the ladylike hem, the non-body-con fit — all are great. It’s … Read More about Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Navy Block Piped Dress
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Topshop isn’t a brand I usually think of for workwear, but I’m loving not one but two blazers from them, both at Nordstrom: this lovely peplum jacket (available in four colors, pictured in grey) and this other open-front blazer. Both … Read More about Thursday’s TPS Report: Tailored Peplum Jacket
For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional. Everyone seemed to … Read More about Suit of the Week: ASOS
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Boden has some great sales going on right now, including this gorgeous wool tulip dress — with sleeves! I like the nice high neckline, and the fact that the skirt is designed to be a much looser fit than one … Read More about Wednesday’s TPS Report: Wool Tulip Dress
Last Call has these 4″ heels in two colors (burgundy, pictured, and black), and considering that I keep bookmarking them, I thought I’d pass them along. I like the buckle and cutout details (and the tiny almost-t-strap! cute!) and the croc-embossed leather. They were $250, were then marked to $199, but with today’s sale they … Read More about Coffee Break: Corinne Croc-Embossed Pump
Yes, yes: we all know I love a good purple pump. I like the sleek look and the mix of suede and leather (to say nothing of the adidas technology) in these nice Rockport pumps. They’re on a great sale, too — they were $110, but are now marked to $55 at 6pm.com. (There’s a very … Read More about Coffee Break: Lendra Pump
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. This is the kind of top that looks like it could be a real find, particularly for the price — it has more than one interesting detail (boatneck, exposed zipper at the nape, shirred shoulders, and longer sleeves), and it’s … Read More about Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Boatneck Fitted Top
I normally don’t blog the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale until it opens to the general public — but this year, with the 8-day head start for Rewards card members, I wonder if anything is going to be left!
I always love a good flat with cutouts, and these are on a great deal at 6pm. I like the mesh and the scalloped, decorative cutouts, along with the beige and black patent neutrals. The flat was $225 but is now $112. Pour la Victoire BII (L-3)
