Thursday’s TPS Report: Lace Crop Grey Cardigan

White House | Black Market Lace Crop Grey CardiganOur daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

I’m not usually a fan of lace for the office, but this grey cardigan (with matching camisole) looks lovely and amazing. I feel like the gray color keeps it from feeling boudoir, and in general it looks really pretty but professional. I like that it’s machine washable, too. The cardigan is $88, and the camisole is $48; both are available in sizes S-XL. White House | Black Market Lace Grey Crop Cardigan

Psst: Here’s a similar cardigan available in (limited) plus sizes.

P.S.: Happy Rosh Hashanah!

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Printed Open-Front Blazer

BCBG Max Azria Printed Open-Front Blazer | CorporetteOur daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

This isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like the abstract print, the asymmetrical shawl collar, and the twist on the traditional blazer shape. The blazer is part of a great sale, too: it was $228, but is now $133 at Saks Off Fifth (limited sizes, alas). BCBG Max Azria Printed Open-Front Blazer

Coffee Break: Helina Flat

Naturalizer Helina Flat | CorporetteThis flat is one of the best sellers on Zappos, and I can see why — I like the round cap toe, the metallic chain detail, and the N5 comfort footbed. Zappos has it in this bronze version (which I suspect would make a great nude-for-you shoe for some skin tones), as well as black; Nordstrom has it in four colors (including navy and beige). It’s $69, and available in regular, wide, and narrow sizes 4-12. Naturalizer Helina Flat

Coffee Break: Tie Stripe Scarf

Brooks Brothers Tie Stripe ScarfBrooks Brothers’ Friends & Family sale is on, and ends tonight! I always like the scarf and accessory selections there, so I’m drooling over these tie stripe oblong scarf — it seems fun in a “borrowed from the boys” kind of way. It was $98, then marked to $68, and it comes down to $51ish with code FF25. Brooks Brothers Tie Stripe Scarf

Hue Moto LeggingsSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

I’m back on the hunt for some comfortable moto leggings that hold their shape, and was happy to see the Hue brand marked down to $35 — perfect for a trend piece that I’ve seen for as much as $1000 elsewhere.  The blue is sold out, but the black is still available in all sizes online — hooray! Happy Friday, ladies.   Hue ‘Moto’ Denim Leggings (Online Only)
P.S.: please note that you can earn triple points at Nordstrom through 9/21.
P.P.S. Here’s a plus-size option.

Deal Alert: Dillards Sale

dillards sale 2014Dillards is having one of their big clearance sales, with lots of good workwear brands on sale, including Antonio Melani (a sister brand to Tahari by ASL and T Tahari), Calvin Klein, MICHAEL Michael Kors, Ivy & Blu, Donna Morgan, Vince Camuto, and Catherine Catherine Malandrino. Tons of stuff under $50, including most of the dresses pictured below. Readers, what do you like to buy at Dillards?  (Here’s a fun random question: I kind of consider Dillards a “local” department store because I’ve shopped at it in Ohio (and I think it’s in the South too?) but doubt most New Yorkers have heard of it. Meanwhile, some New Yorkers are familiar with Century 21, whereas most people in other parts of the country think of that as a realty company.  Which are your favorite local/regional department stores?

Back to the Dillards sale… it includes a few Hall of Famers are on sale, including:

  • Karen Kane Faux-Wrap Dress with short sleeves, including one in a hieroglyphic print (was $108 now marked to $38) and one in a diamond print (was $128 now $46)

Pictured at top: I like this Tahari by ASL Bow Ponte Sheath Dress, available in pink and in black in sizes 2-16 — it was $128 now $46. A few other nice picks:
