Tech Troubles? Tell me about it…
Hi guys — I've noticed some of you have mentioned there are tech troubles. Is it limited to Internet Explorer? IE 8 only? Or are people having problems with other browsers as well?
Thank you in advance…

Update at 5:37 PM ET: Please let me know if anyone is still getting the stack overflow message now. Thanks!
Update at 6:11 PM ET: OK, I've modified some stuff — is anyone still getting it? I think I know which plugin is the problem (but there's still a bit of work to go from there)…
Update 12:36 AM ET (2/9): I've modified some more stuff — please let me know if anyone is actively still getting it. Thanks!
I’m often getting “data overflow” errors using IE – used to have to click the error message 6 times to make it go away, now it’s many more times. I can’t tell you which version of IE it was though as I use lots of computers and can’t remember which it was on.
correction, the error is “stack overflow” and I had to click it 36 times before the error box went away.
this is definitely still occurring this AM
Yes, definitely still occurring this a.m. IE8
Same here.
IE 7 has the problem.
I totally second everything Michelle said – we have IE 7 i think at my office and we arn’t allowed to download any other browser sooo….
It happens to me using IE8, and only when accessing the site using my VPN connection. Strange.
I do NOT have a probelem, but I am ALWAYS left in MODERATION! Why is that? FOOEY!
I get the Stack Overflow at Line:0 message in IE8.
same
same
Wait, you guys actively get that message now? Or you’re confirming that that’s the message you’ve seen in the past?
Kat Im still getting it at 9am East
I get the stack overflow message too. I have IE8.
OK guys — I’m going to go turn off all my plugins — please let me know if it’s still happening…
… and they’re off.
still getting it
7:45 am ET on Thursday, just got the stack overflow, had to click about 15 times to clear. IE, but don’t know what number.
also still getting it
I gotthe stack overflow message as well (IE8) and when I checked just now, I didn’t get that message.
Could someone who was having the trouble in IE7 confirm that the site is OK for them now (ie stack overflow problem not happening?) – thanks!
I will check tomorrow morning at work
Confirmed. I did not get the stack overflow when I just signed on but did earlier today.
I also have teck problems with IT. FOOEY!
ie7 seems to be working ok now.
I’m so angry and I’m so happy I can vent here. There’s a “SnitchBitch” at work who basically sits around at her desk all day, listens to everybody’s conversations and then tells everything to our boss and adds her own storeis in between for that extra kick . It resulted in a lot of confusion and basically made my life hell at work for the past 5 days. Confrontation is out of question as she’s been coming in my way ever since I joined the team and she very well knows we’re not friends. Can I stop talking to her once for all? Is it OK to be in non-talking terms with a team member? I am so pissed that I think i’ll get my peace back if I stop talking to her once for all. Is anyone on my side or do you think I’m reacting out of anger?
If you ignore the S-B completely and openly, it may lead to more trouble. I would limit talking to hello-goodbye, i.e. no conversations.
And no conversations with other people within her range of hearing.
BTW, I got the “posting too quickly” error just now.
I used to have this problem in IE but I never run into it when using Chrome.
When I use Chrome, almost all of the links that everybody posts are blocked by my firewall, but sometimes not with IE. It’s driving me crazy. Nordstrom, amazon, 6pm, zappos, and a bunch of other sites get blocked. I don’t know how I’m supposed to properly goof off at work anymore.
OK — I’ve turned back on about 4 or 5 plugins. Would you guys be kind enough to tell me if it’s working now? So sorry but I don’t have a way to test this on my end (at least, none that I know of) and my tech guy isn’t returning my emails.
No stack overflow message for me.
I always get the “you are posting too quickly” and I’m guessing it is because I link to my blog in my username. I get around this by hitting refresh until my comment posts (thanks to the poster who suggested it) but it drives me nuts! Even before I included my blog link, I would often get that error.
It didn’t happen that time and posted quickly. I use Chrome btw on both my home and work computers.
I just got the posting too quickly notice, and it’s been since this morning since I last posted.
I get the posting too quickly notice at least 1/2 of the time that I post comments (and often on my first comment of the day/week). I use Google Chrome, as well.
And I just got it again, as I tried to post this comment. Irony…
Same here! It prevents me from commenting because it’s so annoying
Oooohhh, I get this in Chrome only, not in IE.
I got the posting too quickly error it in IE today (first time I’ve posted in a long time).
I get it all the f-ing time. I think it happens when 2 people are trying to make a comment at the same time. it drives me INSANE. Sometimes I get it 5 or 6 times in a row.
Ha – was just leaving a comment to say “I never get that error and it’ll be interesting to see if turning off most of the plugins fixed it” and then promptly got the error.
They’re back for me.
I am still getting the stack overflow popup. Glad to know it’s not just me! I am in IE8.
Just wanted to say I love the hamster picture. Reminds me of my first pet when I was a kid. I used to love watching him on his wheel. And those clear mazes. And the “balls” where they would just roll around the room and bump into everything.
I miss my little guy. Not to mention the fish I brought home. And the dog. And the guinea pigs And the gerbils. And the bird. And the lizards (…and all the trips we made to get the crickets that the lizards ate). I really do owe my mom something extra nice this Mother’s Day. She greeted each and every one with just about as much enthusiam as I did.
These days, Ifreak out when hubby springs a last-minute dinner guest on me!
Ditto. Love and miss my hamster. Too bad they only live for a year or so.
LOL. I’d rather a surprise pet than a surprise dinner guest.
LOL. I’d rather a surprise pet than a surprise dinner guest.
I’m having trouble using the mobile site on my iPhone, comments load really slowly.
Same for me, too.
also, running iOS 5…
Just upgraded to IE 8 at work and can’t get the site to load there at all.
Even now with everything turned off?
I just got the stack overflow message thing on IE (8am).
I just got the stack overflow message (it’s almost 9AM eastern), and it seemed to take longer to go away. IE 8.
yay, I’m not getting the stack overflow message anymore. Thanks Kat.
I’m still getting the stack overflow message (9 am). Agreed with TAH, mine is also taking much longer to go away. A couple weeks ago it was one or two clicks, now it’s like 20+ clicks to get it to stop.
I thought I was over reacting when I said 20+ clicks, but I just tried it again and it was 34 clicks before it went away.
I’m still getting it – 9:10AM ET. It took something more than 20 clicks to make it go away.
Still getting Stack Overflow- 9:17 am ET.
Whoa. Never got a stack overflow before. Getting it now on IE8. Switched to Chrome, no issues. Tried it on iOS, no issues, but comments are extremely slow to load.
I am still getting it
I’m still getting it too- it happens everytime I come to the site! Lately it’s taken a lot longer for them to go away (you have to click on it a million times).
Still getting it.
I received the stack overflow message this morning. I get it every time I visit the site. My brouser is IE8.
No issues with Chrome or Firefox, getting it with IE8 – 34 clicks to make it go away.
I hate to tell you this, Kat, but I’m still getting it.
I’m not getting the ‘stack overflow’ message, Kat, but it seems to happen only when it’s been a while since I’ve shut down and restarted my computer.
I am no longer getting the Stack Overflow message. 9 am CST, IE8.
I’m on IE8. I sometimes get the stack overflow, but mostly I cannot view the site at all without turning off active scripting. So I have to come to the site, turn off active scripting, refresh to view, then turn active scripting back on to view any links to the products because most sites use it.
Whatever you’ve changed made it so today the TPS showed, but I couldn’t scroll down the page to see everything that’s on the front page without turning off active scripting. I’ve had this issue off and on for the entire time I’ve been reading this blog–so years.
Got the posting too quickly comment on the first post of the day.
Also, has anyone noticed that when typing a comment, its very difficult to go back in the post and edit a word. The cursor moves extremely slow. Does that makes sense? For examply, I type, type, type, type and then want to add something to a previous sentence…getting my cursor to go back there is very frustrating.
I’m no longer getting the stack overflow message (it’s about 10:45AM eastern). Thanks Kat!
Still getting it – IE8 – had to click it about 20 times.
As of 11:37am PST I’m still getting the ‘stack over-whatever error’ with IE8.
I’m still getting the “stack overflow” message, too. After 26 clicks, it disappears. Really frustrating.
