Giveaway: Five Winners Get One Pair of Comfort Heels from UKIES

Arianna UKIES Red Python Nappa

I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to a new shoe brand that seeks to bridge the gap between comfort and style for women's pumps: UKIES. The brand's patented nanogel technology guarantees comfort and support in every step — no more insoles or inserts. The brand currently has two main styles in their AM-PM collection, designed to take you from desk to dinner. The first is the Arianna pump (pictured), a classic 3″ pointy-toe pump that comes in four colors: red python nappa, black nappa, gold nappa, and beige patent, for $199. The second is the Paris, a 3.5″ heel with a .5″ platform; it comes in black and blush nappa, as well as a black and navy patent, all priced at $209. Both shoes come in half and whole sizes, 6-11.

I think they're both great looking shoes, so I'm excited to announce that five lucky readers will win a pair of shoes of their choosing. It's easy to enter: leave a comment below (please include your email address!) and tell us: what's the most important thing you look for in a pair of office heels?

    1. Completely agree. I love great looking shoes but hate that they end up stored away because they make my feet hurt. Super excited to try the Ukies out.

  1. For office shoes, I want classic style and all-day comfort. No workday should be interrupted by hobbling around because your shoes are painful.

  2. Fit is most important to me in an office shoe – they have to stay on my feet and I have to be able to walk in them! However, I will sacrifice some comfort for aesthetics. I always wear 3-4″ heels to work , being 5’2″ I like the added height plus my calves look better in them. My only other hard and fast rule is no open or peep toe.

  3. Holy crap, if I can find a pair of heals I can wear all day, not look terrible and not kill my feet it’s a miracle!

  4. I am looking for shoes that won’t hobble me when I wear them to walk to lunch or have to walk down 12 flights of stairs for a fire drill.

  5. I just want shoes that will stay on my feet, and provide support without pinching. I also like classic styles that aren’t flashy.

  6. In shoes for the office, I’m looking for: shoes I can actually WALK in without pain and without falling out of them, a not-too-high heel, and style without flash.

  7. I have a long commute, so while I love heels (I’m short!), comfort is key. I’m always on the lookout for classic pumps in fun colors that are magically comfortable for walking long distances.

  8. Classic shape with some interesting details, and a manageable heel (these days, 2.5in or less). And nothing that will fall off my foot! I never understood mules or backless styles for the office.

  9. I go more for style, since I sit at a desk all day. I do try to find comfortable heels, too!

  10. I like classic styles with some nice detail – either a pop of color or interesting texture etc. I usually wear 3 inch heels and appreciate anything that won’t cripple me by the time I get home :-)

  11. A pair of office heels must be comfortable enough that I can stand all morning in court, professional enough that no one is whispering about the stripper-heels lawyer, and fashionable enough that I don’t look like some old lady in orthopedic sneakers!

    1. Absolutely on board with this description! I always worry about heels in court, but I still enjoy the power & height from wearing them.

  12. Pretty, non-frumpy shoes in narrow sizes. They’re surprisingly hard to find.

    1. replying to myself to include email address. And to mention that the best brand I’ve found so far for non-frumpy, good quality narrow shoes is VanEli (sold through Marmi website or store in NYC). Would love to hear other suggestions.

      1. This is such a problem. The only traditional brand I’ve had good luck with is Stuart Weitzman. And Marmi is great. But check out Cobb Hill. As far as I can tell, their shoes all come in narrow.

  13. I want a classic style that are comfortable and between 2.5 and 3 inches high, that you can also wear to walk to get lunch a few blocks away and not cry about when a vent/grate/manhole cover messes up the heel :(

    1. Me too. Why can’t someone design a rip resistant stiletto heel? I end up wearing block heels and wedges for cobblestone cities, but don’t love them.

  14. I want heels that are great looking and comfortable, and that I’m able to walk in without having to take tiny, mincing steps.

  15. Comfortable, sleek and professional shoes that don’t go CLACK CLACK CLACK when I’m walking down the hallway!

  16. I spend a lot of time on my feet teaching, so well balanced (to avoid tripping) and not too high… but also not too frumpy.

  17. I like shoes with an interesting take on a classic style. I like to look good and be comfortable when I have to meet with clients or run to court.

    1. ETA – Not sure how this ended up as a reply. I didn’t mean it to be.

I like shoes that are a good combination of style and price while being comfortable enough for walking to and from public transportation. I also dislike shoes that have skinny heels; I like the greater stability that comes from not-too-narrow heels.

      1. I agree with Must Be Tuesday! YAY! I have to walk alot, but also want to have a pair of shoe’s with a sufficent sole on it so that if I wind up steppeing in poopie (which I do alot in NYC), it will NOT go over the edge and on to my stocking’s where I have to smell it all day. FOOEY! Why can’t peeople curb their dog’s so that we don’t wind up steppeing in their poopie! DOUBEL FOOEY on Dog Poopie!

    2. Non-platform dress shoes with heels under 2-3 inches would be ideal, with some nice detailing at the toe to jazz it up while still being classic would be best.

  18. I look for three criteria, of equal importance: (1) style — the shoes have to be aesthetically pleasing; (2) comfort — if I can’t walk around my office in them without them pinching/chafing, what’s the point; and (3) durability — they need to be able to withstand being worn not just around the office but on the commute to and from the train. I usually log several miles of walking each day to and from the office, on my lunch hour, and so on. To my way of thinking, the best shoes don’t just look good on, they also feel good and last.

  19. I like both a nude shoe and shoes in colors — with a classic feminine style. After 8 years as a lawyer and various, I alternate between heels and flats these days, to avoid too much stress on my feet.

  20. I am on my feet all day so comfort is very important. But who wants an ugly, comfortable shoe? Not me. I need pretty too.

  21. A shoe that is long-wearing, classic, and comfortable. Being available in multiple colors and patterns helps too!

  22. I look for comfort. Can I stand in them? Do I think that I can stand in them for hours?

  23. I am a minimalist when it comes to clothes and shoes so I make sure that whatever shoes I get go with most of the outfits in my closet.
