Arianna UKIES Red Python Nappa

I'm thrilled to introduce you guys to a new shoe brand that seeks to bridge the gap between comfort and style for women's pumps: UKIES. The brand's patented nanogel technology guarantees comfort and support in every step — no more insoles or inserts. The brand currently has two main styles in their AM-PM collection, designed to take you from desk to dinner. The first is the Arianna pump (pictured), a classic 3″ pointy-toe pump that comes in four colors: red python nappa, black nappa, gold nappa, and beige patent, for $199. The second is the Paris, a 3.5″ heel with a .5″ platform; it comes in black and blush nappa, as well as a black and navy patent, all priced at $209. Both shoes come in half and whole sizes, 6-11.

I think they're both great looking shoes, so I'm excited to announce that five lucky readers will win a pair of shoes of their choosing. It's easy to enter: leave a comment below (please include your email address!) and tell us: what's the most important thing you look for in a pair of office heels?

  1. Versatility (which means for me that they have to be comfortable, stylish, and somewhat neutral/classic)

  2. I would say professionalism, which I’m defining for this as a classic, sleek look that elevates an outfit, without looking dowdy or too (high, uncomfortable, fussy, dressy, casual, old, young, etc.)

  3. I look for all-leather materials (synthetic makes my foot sweat more), a medium-to-low heel (no chunky pumps), in a classic shape (no peep toes, mules or slingbacks) in either a classic (black or navy) or bright color (pink, red, purple). The fit has to be right- no heel slipping. I was a big fan of the Cole Haan Nike Air pumps before they discontinued that line – this line looks promising, though I am surprised there are no kitten heel options.

  4. Comfort, which for me, a bigfoot, means that the ball of my foot actually fits the mold of the shoe, and is not squished on the upward part. Ball of my foot should be flat in good heels. So many brands try to just upsize everything, and it doesn’t work. Bigger feet need slight tweaks to actually work.

  5. Heels that are not DISTRACTING: not ugly, not too flashy, comfortable enough that I can forget they are heels!

  6. Comfort by far, I need to be able to stand in them for extended periods of time while I teach

  7. I’m definitely looking for comfort and not an obscene heel (preferably no more than 3 inches). It’s difficult to find both of those things while still getting a stylish shoe.

  8. While I somehow seems to repel balance in all other areas of my life, I need it in work shoes – they must be stylish, but not too trendy; comfortable, but not look like my grandma’s orthodics; high-heeled without being HIGH-heeled; and high quality, without breaking the bank!

  9. Comfort, especially when walking several blocks. My company’s HQ is spread over 4 city blocks, and it’s very common to have to walk back and forth between buildings for meetings. Some heels are “comfy” if you’re only walking short distances, but I really love shoes that allow me to walk 4-5 blocks at a quick pace without bothering my feet, but are also cute.

  10. I need a sturdy heel. When I put the shoes on a table, I poke the shoe to see if they have some stability.

  11. Classic styling and comfort – I must look professional, but, when needed, sprint down the hall with redwelds!

  12. I actually don’t wear heels to the office because I’ve never found a pair I can stand all day… would be great to give these a try!

  13. Comfort and style–the worst is when you’re wearing a great looking pair of shoes but dread leaving your desk!

  14. Whether you’re standing to give a presentation, power walking to keep up with long-legged partners, or running to court, your shoes need to support you. They should be stylish enough to add some interest to your outfit, but conservative enough to maintain an air of professionalism.

  15. I like a classic style that isn’t crippling. I also look for two to other important factors. First, the cut of the shoe as I have bunions. Second is stability, I don’t like to wobble!

  16. There is no one most important thing. They have to look good, be versatile enough to wear with many outfits, and they need to be comfortable, which means a well-placed heel, ample footbed padding, and no pinchy toes.

  17. Comfort is key but I refuse to buy ugly shoes. So style of the shoes first catches my eye and they come home with me if the price is right and I can wear them while running around all day.

  18. I look for heels with personality that I could easily dash the five blocks to the courthouse in if needed.

  19. There’s no single most important thing. The shoes have to look good, fit well, and be sufficiently comfortable to wear all day. Failure on any one of those metrics is a deal breaker for me.

  20. I look for shoes that actually work for a professional woman, which means that they must look polished and be comfortable enough to wear all day. When you have those classic-looking pumps, and can actually walk in them (rather than stumble and wobble), you’re good to go.

  21. I like basic heels that I can walk in comfortably. I have a desk job, but I don’t want to have to change my shoes to go get lunch or get blisters from walking to and from meetings. And I want them to match most of my outfits. I keep my heels at the office, and only have a limited amount of storage space for them.

  22. I want shoes that make me look like a lady with a skinny heel and good soft sole – something comfortable enough it doesnt demand me dragging around a huge handbag ’cause of the spare flats I always need to bring!

  23. I’ve been reading this blog for quite some time now and even had a question asked and answered. I’ve bought most things EXCEPT shoes. Pumps, especially. I’m an athlete with tired legs at work and knee injuries from previous years and so I am most nervous to wear pumps. Comfort in the toe box, an attractive look and a reasonable heel seems too much to ask when shopping for a pump. But it’s of utmost importance to me. I work 5days a week, 52weeks a year, and more years than I care to number. My happiness is not worth compromising.
