Isola - Balta (Black Sheep Sonner) - FootwearSomething on your mind? Chat about it here. The extremely strappy sandal look has been around for a long time, I think, but it still looks fresh and hot, at least to me. The trick? Finding a pair of heels that's comfortable to wear with your party dress. I like this pair of 4″ heels from Isola (the same company behind the ubercomfortable Sofft and Born shoes). I like the “quiet” sparkle, the way the straps dip in the front (to help elongate your leg) and the general look. They were $185 at Zappos, but are currently marked to $148. 1. It’s been a few years since I’ve needed to purchase sheets and a duvet cover. (The last time I did it, Linens’n Things was still in business.)

Where do ‘rettes typically shop for these?

    TIA

      1. Overstock.com although you take a gamble with not being able to feel/see the duvet cover/sheets in person.

    1. I’m a fan of Royal Velvet sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond, and Ikea for duvet colors (I like their designs a lot).

  2. Odd question that came to me as I was ironing my clothes for the week: is it unprofessional to always roll up the sleeves to your button-down collared shirts? Once I get to my desk in the morning, I always roll up my sleeves. Is that tacky? I was trying to remember, and I don’t think I’ve seen many people do this at work. FWIW, I work in govt finance. Business casual..most people don’t even wear button-downs, but they are my go-to.

    1. Unless I am/will be wearing a suit jacket, over it I frequently roll up the sleeves on my button fronts. I just make sure that the “rolls” are neat and flat as opposed to being bunched up. A lot of times I roll up the sleeves before I even put the shirt on in the morning!

    2. I think if you’re going for the crisp, professional look of a button-down, rolling up the sleeves ruins the look. I know a lot of people who prefer having a 3/4 sleeve, so why not just buy the 3/4 length to start with?

      1. The cuffs separate (read: tear away from, rip) from the sleeve when you bend your arms.
