As someone from ND and living close to this situation who believes the tribe is in the wrong, I’m not super excited to see this. However, I am appreciative of the reasonable suggestion of supporting the tribal healthcare, which is something most of the tribes here in the Midwest need.

Can you explain your position? I haven’t come across anyone who thinks the tribe is “in the wrong”.

One, I don’t think the tribe is in the wrong ideologically.
Two, there was virtually no mainstream media coverage although thousands of people were encamped there for months. The news shouldn’t pick and choose what stories to report on based on whether they support the event.
Three, its disturbing to see police using force to arrest unarmed protestors when the Bundys, who were just acquitted of all charges, were armed to the teeth on federal lands and arrested without violence (and then found not guilty!). Smacks of white privilege to me.

Ms B
I loved the Julia Baird piece. Now if only more lines would get the message that not all women over 40 want frumpalicious looks suited more to the backyard than the boardroom (I am looking at you, Talbots, but the rest of you know who you are)!
