while the non-suit interview outfits are definitely cute and work appropriate, they seem too casual for job interviews… (I’m in higher ed)

She explains in the introduction that they’re geared towards more creative fields where a suit is not, in fact, expected even for an interview. I worked in a super-casual office last year, and I went to the interview in a pair of dark jeans and a short-sleeved button-down blouse. Once I got the job, my supervisor would regularly come in in ripped jeans and/or asymmetrical… items of clothing I’m not sure what to call. That was in the nonprofit arts sector.
