– If you haven't watched it yet, please do: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg gives a TED talk about why there aren't enough women leaders. (I thought it hits the nail on the head and was inspirational to boot.) I've embedded the video below.
– In more career-specific venues: The Careerist looks at the numbers regarding women and law firms, and suggests everyone has a stiff drink. Meanwhile, FINS takes a look at how women are succeeding at banks.

Wow, great Sheryl Sandberg talk! Definitely BOTH depressing and inspiring.
Can I just add that I love her style & what she was wearing?!

Kat, did you notice Sheryl Sandberg appears to be wearing the Donna Karan jacket you featured in this post? https://corporette.com/2010/07/14/suit-of-the-week-donna-karan/. Either she’s a Corporette reader, or she has very good taste!
Kat
ha, thanks! one of the Facebook commenters pointed that out — I’m sure I can pat myself on the back for her stylish wardrobe choice. ;)

I watched the video of Sheryl Sandberg a couple of days ago and have found myself thinking about it ever since, so I wanted to come back and say THANK YOU for posting it. And I’m going to make sure I sit at the table from now on.

Did anyone else notice that at the beginning of the speech her daughter is three years old and by the end she’s two years old?
RR
My kids are almost 3, and I do that all the time.
Great speech. The last point hit home for me. Since having kids, I’ve lost my edge. I’ve quit going for it. I’ve quit demanding the good assignments. A lot to think about.
