Kat, the Harvard Business Review’s discussion of “pandas” was great background on why not all of us can progress to the “C-Suite”, even in law firms. There is a need for certain qualities beyond the minimum requirement of being smart — Dad calls it “executive presence”, that we need to go to the top. I have listened to a lot of podcasts and TED talks on the subject, as I hope to become the manageing partner after the manageing partner retires. He is staying on longer b/c of the stock market, and Margie, who told him she wants him to feel needed @work and they have a toddler who will be in school next year, and that will cost a lot of money. That is OK with me b/c Dad says I still have some work to do b/f I am polished enough for the C-Suite. Dad is mumbling now about another condo in the upper EAST side, which is not as bad as the one that fell through on theupper WEST side. FOOEY on the West side. I like to stay on the upper EAST side! YAY!!!
