OMG just no to the workout makeup.
+1,000 The only time I have make up on at the gym is when I go straight from my desk to the on-premises gym. Even then, I wipe off my foundation/blush first.
Curious, why do you do this – wipe off foundation and blush? I don’t bother taking anything off before I workout but I don’t sweat a lot so maybe that’s why. I don’t see the benefit of makeup removal before I work out, then I just have to cleanse my face again after I workout?
Agreed – when going straight to the gym from work I always mean to wash my face first, but honestly I’m so rushed gathering my gym gear and changing that I always forget. I get super sweaty there and immediately hop into the shower afterward so I figure everything gets washed off then?
On the weekends though I usually just go to the gym with clean moisturized skin with sunblock on.
I do the same. I was told that if I have makeup on, and I sweat, the makeup gets into my pores and cloges them so that I would wind up with adult acne. I do not want that b/c what man would date a short girl with a tuchus AND pimpels, so I follow the rule to not put makeup on until I get to work, and to take off my makeup BEFORE I go to the Gym after work. I do NOT go to the Gym at lunch b/c I would have to take off my makeup b/f I work out, and then put it on AFTER I work out! FOOEY! The things we do to attract a man! DOUBEL FOOEY!
I get really sweaty during my workouts (hello marathon training) and I have oily skin. It feels gross to have makeup on my skin.
Is it weird to gift people with more specialty type of alcohol like Canadian ice wine, or Mexian mezcal, or Chinese Baijiu instead of the typical bottle of wine? I have to thank some business associates (all American) and was thinking about sending them one of the above. In the past when I received red wine or similar generic drinks, I would just regift them or mix up the people who gave them because they seemed to blur together. I like these specialty drinks because they connect to a part of my heritage (except for the mezcal, which I just happen to really enjoy and a friend operates a mezcal distillery that I like to support).
As long as you are sure they all drink, I think it’s kind of fun and different. I say go for it.
Speaking for myself, I would love a funky wine or liquor as a personal gift. It can be touchy to gift alcohol to business acquaintances but if it’s common in your field, go for it. Also if you could name drop that mezcal distillery I’d like to check it out.
Right? It’s called Erstwhile Mezcal.
I am totally ok w/ this too- if I don’t like the alcohol, I’ll just regift or put it out at a gathering.
Not weird, but I wouldn’t necessarily know how an unusual-to-me spirit is intended to be consumed. If mixers are appropriate, including one along with the bottle would be nice!
Second this. I like the idea of something different but would appreciate something more that had a recipe + ingredients for how to consume.
FWIW I have both gifted and received scotch as a gift with great success/enjoyment.

Outfit ideas for picking up a ‘giant check’ after a fundraiser? Will be on social media and maybe a statewide newspaper. I’m a lawyer but this is for a nonprofit I work with.
Black sheath or shell and pants, bright jacket in a solid color (no prints; they turn out funky in photos sometimes), fun shoes. Have fun!
